Mitsui Information Launches Data Utilization Solution 'dataPARC' in Japan

Mitsui Information Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Yuji Mano) has recently partnered with Voith Turbo (headquartered in Germany) to commence the provision of its operational data unification and visualization solution, "dataPARC," starting from April 2026. This innovative solution is designed specifically for power plants and manufacturing facilities, allowing for real-time collection and visualization of vast amounts of time-series data generated by equipment and sensors, thus enabling rapid situational awareness and data utilization at the operational level.

Background

In today’s industrial landscape, particularly in sectors such as power generation, gas, and chemicals, stable and efficient operations are paramount. This necessity has led to a significant increase in the volume of data captured from various equipment and sensors. However, these diverse data sources often become fragmented due to the integration of equipment and sensors from different manufacturers and generations, complicating the effective utilization of the data. Consequently, identifying issues and understanding the overall status of equipment can become time-consuming – a pressing concern in an era where labor shortages are increasingly acute.

Recognizing these challenges, Mitsui Information has entered into a partnership with Voith Turbo to provide an environment where plant operators can comprehensively monitor equipment status and respond quickly to abnormalities through the utilization of operational data.

Features of dataPARC

1. Unified Data Collection and Visualization: dataPARC allows for the centralized aggregation and visualization of data from various equipment and sensors, regardless of manufacturer or model. This capability leverages existing equipment configurations, enabling operators to gain a comprehensive overview of scattered data on-site.

2. High-Speed Processing of Large Data Volumes: The solution facilitates the rapid accumulation and processing of massive time-series datasets, capturing changes occurring every second in real-time without disrupting on-site operations. Thus, it supports the continuous monitoring and analysis of equipment conditions, allowing operators to quickly identify signs of abnormalities and make informed operational decisions.

Mitsui Information’s Strengths

With over a decade of experience, Mitsui Information has supported numerous industrial sectors, including power and manufacturing plants, in the integration, operation, and utilization of operational data platforms. Using its experience in navigating complex environments where Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) coexist, the company aims to provide tailored implementation and technical support through dataPARC. Furthermore, it plans to assist clients in harnessing data in the era of Generative AI.

Future Initiatives

Mitsui Information is committed to helping clients construct a comprehensive data utilization framework beginning with the unification and visualization of operational data. By leveraging this consolidated data for cause analysis and operational improvement, the company will continually support clients from both design and operational perspectives as they move beyond simple system implementation and toward effective data utilization.

Comment from Jones, Director of Partner and Product Strategy at dataPARC

Jones expressed enthusiasm about forming the partnership with Mitsui Information and highlighted the importance of their strong network within the enterprise domain, particularly among manufacturers, as a catalyst for accelerating dataPARC’s expansion in the Japanese market. He believes that through Mitsui Information’s robust support in data utilization strategies, a greater number of clients will be able to optimize operational data, leading to enhanced production efficiency and improved decision-making.
