MSI and the National Palace Museum's Premium EV Charger
In an exciting partnership, MSI (Micro-Star International), a global leader in new energy and AI technology, has collaborated with Taiwan's National Palace Museum to launch a limited edition premium electric vehicle (EV) charger. This innovative product draws inspiration from the exquisite 'black-glazed leaf-patterned tea bowl' crafted during the Southern Song dynasty, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern charging infrastructure. This unique design not only redefines the aesthetics and experience of energy technology but also provides a functional and artistic solution for residential, office, and luxury architectural spaces.
The National Palace Museum positions itself as one of the first cultural institutions to adopt MSI's smart charger, showcasing its strong commitment to sustainability and actively supporting green energy policies.
Developed, manufactured, and serviced in Taiwan by MSI’s EV charging solution division, this charger has already garnered several prestigious accolades, including the MIT Smile Mark, the Taiwan Excellence Award Gold Prize, and the 2024 Taiwan Excellence Award. Moreover, it has achieved stringent safety certifications from notable institutions such as Taiwan's VPC, Europe's IEC, and the United States' UL. The charger embodies the refined minimalism of Song dynasty ceramics with its elegant silhouette and mirror-finished black glaze.
Equipped with MSI’s proprietary smart control app, the charger offers features like remote operation, scheduling, and energy monitoring, ensuring intuitive usability, stable charging, and long-term durability. Designed to withstand demanding conditions, it meets IP55 protection standards, is resistant to salt spray, and performs optimally even at altitudes of up to 3,000 meters. Each unit also comes with a two-year warranty and approximately $5 million in product liability insurance.
Sam Chern, Vice President of Marketing at MSI, expressed, “For many years, MSI has integrated AI, new energy, and consumer technology into our innovations. Our collaboration with the National Palace Museum does more than just borrow aesthetics; it creates a living dialogue between technology and cultural heritage. We aim to elevate EV charging stations beyond mere functionality, seamlessly integrating them into the design language of spaces, becoming a source of beauty in everyday life.”
Elsa Yeh, AVP of MSI’s EV charging solutions, added, “Electric vehicles are transforming our mobility. Our mission in the new energy sector is to create smart charging solutions that are easy to use, beautifully designed, and seamlessly connected. This special edition charger for the National Palace Museum is the result of a comprehensive process—conceptualized, designed, and manufactured entirely by the MSI team—showcasing our advanced expertise in new energy and system integration.”
