Historic Transition at Domino's Pizza as Rogers Mueller Takes Over as CEO
In a significant development for the Domino's Pizza franchise, RPM Pizza, LLC has announced a pivotal leadership transition. The company, long associated with its seasoned owner Glenn Mueller, will see his son, Rogers Mueller, stepping into the role of CEO effective immediately. This change marks a new chapter in the storied history of RPM Pizza, which has made substantial contributions to the Domino's brand since its inception in 1981.
Founded by Glenn and his brother Richard Mueller in Gulfport, Mississippi, RPM Pizza has evolved over the decades into one of the largest Domino's franchises globally. At one point in their history, RPM Pizza boasted the title of the biggest Domino's Pizza franchise in the United States, operating over 510 stores across three countries and eight states. As of now, RPM Pizza runs 137 locations in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, and Indiana, catering to thousands of pizza lovers.
Rogers Mueller, who has successfully operated 28 stores in Indiana under the division known as RPM Pizza Midwest II, expressed his gratitude and excitement about his new role. "It's an honor to lead RPM Pizza as the third franchisee CEO since our founding in 1981," he stated, emphasizing the company's commitment to upholding its family-oriented values and operational excellence. This commitment is exemplified in their dedication to developing staff members, enhancing service quality, and fostering growth in the communities they serve.
In tandem with Rogers's promotion, his sister, Merrin Mueller-Wells, is also stepping up her involvement by increasing her ownership stake in the franchise while taking charge as Senior Vice President of People and Business Development. Merrin will focus on crucial areas such as community impact, human resources, and organizational leadership, ensuring that the franchise continues to thrive under family guidance.
The legacy of RPM Pizza dates back to a time when pizza delivery itself was a novel concept. The original founders identified a burgeoning opportunity, leading them to innovate not just in quality but also in business practices. Among their contributions are the introduction of the lighted three-sided cartop sign, a specialized Pizza College for training store managers, heated hot bags for deliveries, and drive-thru pickup windows at free-standing stores. These innovations have set them apart in the competitive pizza market.
Historically, both Glenn and Richard Mueller have received accolades for their contributions to the Domino’s system, including induction into the Domino's Pizza Chairman’s Circle Hall of Fame. Glenn was honored with the inaugural Legacy Award in 2024, adding to their storied legacy within the Domino's community. Their commitment to nurturing talent is evident, as over 155 RPM Pizza team members have gone on to become franchise owners themselves.
As Rogers assumes the CEO role, he acknowledges the passing of his uncle Richard and expresses confidence that he would be pleased to see Rogers, along with his siblings Merrin and Stephanie, continue the family’s legacy. Rogers is committed to reinforcing the bond between community service and pizza delivery, a mission that has driven RPM Pizza from its early days to the present.
As RPM Pizza looks to the future, this leadership change is poised to unlock new growth opportunities and innovative strategies. Rogers's foundational knowledge and experience will undoubtedly steer the company as it maintains its beloved status across multiple states, honoring the familial traditions that have long defined this exceptional franchise. Through this transition, RPM Pizza demonstrates that its core values remain steadfast, reinforcing its reputation in the fast-paced food service market and ensuring that family values, operational excellence, and community engagement will continue to guide them in the years to come.
