Huawei's Revolutionary Smart Transportation Solutions Unveiled at MWC 2025

At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2025, Huawei boldly introduced its latest innovations in transportation technology. The theme of the transportation forum, 'Accelerate Transportation Digital Intelligence,' highlights the urgency and necessity of making transportation smarter and more efficient. Jacky Wang, Vice President of Huawei's Smart Transportation Business Unit (BU), announced seven groundbreaking solutions across four key sectors: rail, aviation, general transportation, and seaports.

Advanced Rail Solutions

In the rail sector, the Smart Railway Yard and Station Solution empowers significant intelligent upgrades. By enhancing the rate of intelligent fault recognition to an impressive 99.99%, this solution facilitates smarter and more efficient operations. Additionally, intelligent scheduling boosts the efficiency of rolling stock inspections and repairs by 30%. Preliminary inspections that leverage intelligent detection technologies can reduce manual workloads by half, allowing for considerable time savings. With perimeter detection mechanisms implemented, the solution also ensures zero missed alarms and minimizes false alarms—effectively cutting power consumption by 40% and reducing overall costs and space utilization by 30%.

Enhanced Aviation Capabilities

Shifting focus to aviation, Huawei has upgraded the Fully Connected All-Optical Network Solution for airports, which now features the M45 panel-type Optical Network Unit (ONU). This enhancement includes capabilities for power over fiber (PoF) supply and Type B dual-homing service protection. The integration of Wi-Fi 7 technology ensures that VIP users receive a targeted signal boost, increasing bandwidth by 20%. Furthermore, Huawei's proprietary Wi-Fi shield guarantees zero data leakage, enhancing overall security. This advancement in airport operations improves both flight departure punctuality and ground support efficiency by 5%, while making forecasting accuracies more reliable.

Transportation Operations Coordination

For general transportation, Huawei’s Transportation Operations Coordination Center - Advanced (TOCC-A) represents a significant leap forward. This innovative system is designed to detect traffic incidents within seconds, allowing for a response that is 30% quicker than previous methods. Moreover, the precise scheduling of new energy buses enhances passenger mobility efficiency by over 15%. The TOCC-A consists of nine modular options and 16 types of services that can be combined to optimize safety, operational efficiency, and service quality for passengers.

Innovative Port Management

Finally, in the maritime sector, Huawei introduced the Intelligent Multi-Level Port Operations Management Solution aimed at digitalizing port operations and fostering innovation. The system accelerates report statistics from weeks down to minutes, allowing for real-time analysis of benefit indicators—now conducted on an hourly basis instead of the traditional monthly approach. This transformation illustrates Huawei's commitment to advancing digital innovation in maritime logistics.

Huawei’s extensive experience highlights its capability in this domain, having successfully assisted over 210 airports, airlines, and air traffic management organizations. In addition, the company has worked with more than 300 urban rail lines and over 180,000 km of railways spread across 70 cities. Impressively, Huawei has also managed road networks exceeding 200,000 km and partnered with over 100 entities within the port and land transport sectors.

The unveiling of these solutions at MWC 2025 marks a pivotal moment for smart transportation, setting new standards for efficiency, safety, and sustainability across global transportation networks. The future undoubtedly looks brighter as Huawei leads the charge in transforming the way we think about and engage with transportation technology today.
