The 12th Smiling Inheritance Symposium in Osaka
The Smiling Inheritance Association, based in Chuo, Tokyo, has established an engaging annual event dedicated to inheritance education, known as the
Smiling Inheritance Symposium. Marked on
December 1, the day also declares
Smile Inheritance Day. This year, the symposium will raise awareness about inheritance challenges, particularly focusing on the increasing issue of dementia impacting heirs.
Importance of the Event
With projections stating that by
2030,
one in four individuals over the age of 65 may struggle with dementia or its precursors, the urgency of addressing inheritance matters has sharply increased. The symposium will feature a keynote speech from
Attorney Katsumitsu Katsu, a recognized specialist in voluntary guardianship, who will delve into the current state of dementia in Japan.
During the event, attendees will also enjoy highlights such as the highly-acclaimed
Smiling Inheritance Rakugo, which offers a humorous perspective on inheritance narratives, and the unveiling of the new publication titled
2026 Case Studies of Inheritance and End-of-Life Consulting. Additionally, there will be an award ceremony for the winners of the
Smiling Inheritance Haiku Contest. This event promises to provide valuable insights and fresh ideas for those involved in inheritance matters.
Following the symposium, participants can look forward to a
networking party that has received positive feedback in previous years. A plethora of professionals from various sectors related to inheritance will gather, offering excellent opportunities for networking and discussions. Spaces are limited, so attendees are encouraged to register early. (Note: A separate fee of 5,000 yen will apply for the networking event.)
