Fiesta de España 2025: A Cultural Extravaganza
Get ready to immerse yourself in the spirit of Spain as the
Fiesta de España 2025 unfolds at
Yoyogi Park, Tokyo, on
November 15-16, 2025.
From the aromatic steam rising from gigantic paella pots to the rhythmic foot-tapping of passionate flamenco dancers, this festival promises to awaken your senses for an unforgettable two-day experience, celebrating the 400-year-old bond between Japan and Spain.
Culinary Delights: Savor the Massive Paella
A highlight of the festival is the famous
giant paella, prepared under the supervision of the
Japan Paella Association. Expert chefs will cook it fresh right before your eyes, creating a truly magical
eating experience. Enjoy a steaming bowl of paella just like the locals do in Spain!
Giant Paella Schedule:
- - November 15 (Saturday): 11:30 - Seafood Paella / 14:30 - Chicken Paella
- - November 16 (Sunday): 11:30 - Chicken Paella / 14:30 - Seafood Paella
Price: 1,300 yen per serving (available until sold out)
Beyond the giant paella, indulge in various other delectable Spanish dishes, paired with Spanish wines, beers, and sherry. You'll be able to fully enjoy the flavor of Spain right in Tokyo!
Passionate Stages: The Flamenco Festival
After last year's success, the
Sevillanas Contest will return, featuring last year's champions, the
Haruka Bonbon Sisters, and the sub-champions,
Las Majas from Seisen Women's College. Top dancers who have graced the stage in previous events will also perform, showcasing the rich Spanish culture through
flamenco,
zarzuela, and
Spanish guitar.
The
climax of the two-day event will be the
Special Flamenco Stage – Flamenco Night Fiesta, where performers will gather to deliver an exhilarating show. The stage will come alive with the sound of stomping feet and passionate expressions. Don’t miss this moment!
Celebrating 400 Years of Japan-Spain Relations
A landmark event this year is the participation of the
Hasekura Tsunenaga Cultural Association, marking a new chapter in the festival's history. Attendees can learn about
Hasekura Tsunenaga, a key figure in Japan's early diplomatic ties with Spain during the Edo period, showcasing cultural artifacts and experiences from that historic journey.
Live performances will also pay tribute to the Great East Japan Earthquake, featuring the
Soul & Beat TEN-CHI-JIN troupe, who connect Japan and Spain through dance and music, highlighting a moment where time and borders fade amidst beautiful rhythms.
