Exciting Science Events for Families at Kusrium Lab 2025 Autumn

The Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, led by President Asuka Miyahashi, is thrilled to announce the upcoming hands-on science event, "Kusrium Lab 2025 Autumn", scheduled for September 14 and 15, at the National Science Museum in Chiyoda, Tokyo. This event aims to provide children and their families an engaging way to learn about pharmaceuticals and science, enhancing knowledge and inspiration for future careers in the field.

After a successful event in March 2025, which attracted around 6,000 visitors, the association is excited to expand this initiative to the autumn holidays. The Kusrium Lab will invite families to explore a variety of interactive activities related to the world of medicine and pharmaceuticals.

Event Highlights

During the two-day event, attendees can look forward to:

Experiment Show:

• - Discovering Medicines: An introduction to techniques used in identifying effective pharmaceutical components.
• - Acids and Alkaline: Simple experiments that demonstrate the roles of acids and bases in interacting with the human body and medication.

Panel Displays:

• - Creating New Medicines: A section dedicated to educating visitors on the steps involved in developing pharmaceuticals.
• - Scientific Breakthroughs: Illustrations of historical figures who made significant contributions to the invention of medicines.

Additional Activities:

• - Learn about the workings of electron microscopes, in collaboration with Carl Zeiss AG.
• - Participate in molecular puzzle experiences where children can assemble molecular models.
• - Enjoy a game of pharmaceuticals-themed sugoroku, a board game that teaches about the processes involved in medication production.
• - Attend workshops utilizing chromatography techniques introduced in the experiment shows.

This event not only aims to brush up attendees' science skills but also to inspire the next generation of researchers and medical professionals.
