Eustyle Laboratory Expands to Hiroshima with New Group Home Opening

Eustyle Laboratory Launches First Group Home in Hiroshima

Eustyle Laboratory Inc., a leader in caregiving for individuals with severe disabilities and chronic illnesses, has opened its first daytime service-supported group home, Eustyle Home Higashi-Hiroshima, on November 1st, 2025. This new facility aims to address the pressing need for places where individuals with severe physical, intellectual, and mental disabilities can receive comprehensive care and support.

Mission Statement and Services Offered

The mission of Eustyle Laboratory is clear: "Deliver necessary care to everyone in need." With its headquarters in Nakano, Tokyo, the company specializes in intensive visit care services and has been serving a variety of disabled persons through group homes nationwide. The establishment of Eustyle Home Higashi-Hiroshima is a significant step in expanding their services to Hiroshima Prefecture, where only two daytime service-supported group homes currently exist.

In conjunction with its existing Eustyle Care Hiroshima agency, which has been operating since 2023, the new home will provide various options for local families and individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives within the community.

Government Policies Favoring Local Transition for Disabled Individuals

The Japanese government has been proactively promoting the transition of individuals with disabilities from institutionalized care to community living. This trend is bolstered by the ratification of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare is currently in discussions to explore the role of facilities that support community living for disabled individuals through various committees.

Eustyle Home Higashi-Hiroshima features a daytime service-supported model, allowing residents to stay at the facility around the clock, receiving 24/7 assistance. This type of arrangement accommodates individuals classified with support needs of Level 4 or higher, and it was officially recognized back in 2018. Despite a rising demand for such services, the proportion of daytime service-supported group homes remains below 10% of the total facilities available.

Addressing Local Needs in Higashi-Hiroshima

Eustyle Home Higashi-Hiroshima seeks to fill the substantial gap in available resources for severe and mental disabilities in the region. The home is only the second of its kind in Higashi-Hiroshima City, and there is already a significant waitlist for placement. Many inquiries are being received from individuals who have been long-term residents in psychiatric hospitals and are struggling to find suitable housing.

Additionally, Eustyle Home is equipped with two rooms dedicated to short-term stays, which can serve urgent situations referred by child consultation centers or provide respite for families.

Creating a Supportive Community Environment

What sets Eustyle Home apart is its dedication to enriching the daily lives of residents through various daytime activities. Unique offerings include agricultural experiences at a nearby farm, which not only inspire interaction among residents but also promote health and engagement with nature. Collaborating with local medical facilities, Eustyle Home ensures that residents receive the medical attention they may require directly at the home, addressing the challenges of finding accessible healthcare in the area.

Commitment to Quality Care and Support

Since its inception in 2012, Eustyle Laboratory has specialized in providing care for individuals with severe disabilities and chronic illnesses. This dedication continues to manifest through advanced training for all caregiving staff at Eustyle College, where they acquire essential skills like suctioning, as well as training to support individuals with severe behavioral challenges.

Eustyle Home Higashi-Hiroshima facilitates meaningful support for individuals with Level 4 or higher disabilities and offers a long-term living arrangement without restrictions on residency duration, thereby ensuring that aging and deteriorating health conditions are adequately catered for. The facility operates hand-in-hand with their home visiting care service, creating a holistic approach to caregiving for persons with severe disabilities in Hiroshima.

Future Expansion Plans

In addition to the opening of the Eustyle Home in Hiroshima, plans are underway to establish more facilities in Tochigi and Ibaraki Prefectures by November 2025. Eustyle Laboratory aims to surpass fifty homes by 2027 as part of an ongoing initiative to enhance the quality of life for people with severe disabilities.

Eustyle Laboratory remains committed to creating a society where individuals with disabilities can truly live according to their unique needs and aspirations, reinforcing the dual importance of both community-based care and supportive living environments.
