In 2025, ZTE allocated approximately RMB 22.76 billion for R&D, which accounts for around 17% of its total revenue. This investment not only enhances ZTE's AI capabilities, but it's also instrumental in propelling the company toward achieving its sustainability targets.

As of December 31, 2025, ZTE had submitted roughly 95,000 patent applications, with over 50,000 already granted worldwide. This technological investment positions ZTE as a leader in innovation within the telecommunications sector, specifically in chip technology where they hold around 5,900 patent applications.

ZTE has integrated climate-conscious strategies into its business model. In 2025, ZTE significantly surpassed its Phase I target set in their Net-Zero Strategy White Paper, achieving a remarkable 46% reduction in operational carbon emissions from 2021 levels.

Moreover, ZTE successfully reduced its emissions intensity during the use and maintenance phases of telecom products by 8.55%, showcasing the effectiveness of their climate action strategies.

In its report, ZTE highlighted that all employees received training ensuring a workforce equipped for the future. The company adheres to compliance standards, sustaining its ISO 22301:2019 certification across its major operations. Additionally, ZTE's commitment to data compliance governance remains paramount, with its recent efforts earning recognition, such as securing the EU's ePrivacyseal Global certification for multiple products.

Beyond operational excellence, ZTE’s commitment to transparency has been acknowledged by various global entities. For the fourth consecutive year, Sustainalytics rated the company as having a 'Low ESG Risk'.
