Collaboration for Better Health in Somalia
In an inspiring initiative, Earth Corporation and Accept International have joined forces to enhance health conditions in Somalia through innovative oral care products. This partnership leverages the pioneering oxidation control technology, MA-T®, aimed at improving the health of individuals in the troubled region.
Earth Corporation, headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo, and backed by its president, Katsuyoshi Kawabata, alongside Accept International—a Tokyo-based NGO led by director Yoko Nagai—have embarked on a unique project scheduled to kick off in April. The project will utilize MA-T®-based products such as ‘Mouth Clean Gel’ and ‘Mouth Wash Spray’ to conduct health workshops at a rehabilitation center in Galmudug State, a region grappling with severe water scarcity.
Addressing Humanitarian Needs
The primary goal of this collaboration is to implement health and hygiene improvement measures in communities affected by conflict and drought. The implementation will not only focus on direct health education but will also aim to raise awareness of oral hygiene issues, leading to better health outcomes for local youth and other vulnerable members of the community.
MA-T® technology, recognized for its strong disinfection and deodorization capabilities alongside its safety profile, has found applications across healthcare, dental, food safety, and hospitality sectors. This project signifies its adaptation to provide oral care solutions in water-scarce and challenging environments.
Technical Insights into MA-T®
MA-T® represents a breakthrough in stable generation of minute radicals, offering sustainable sanitation solutions where hygiene infrastructure is limited. This pioneering approach has the potential to create transformative changes in communities, encouraging individuals to adopt healthier behaviors and improve overall health outcomes.
