Tokyu Hotels Launches SDGs Week 2025 with Sustainable Initiatives Nationwide

Tokyu Hotels' SDGs Week 2025

Tokyu Hotels & Resorts Co., Ltd., led by President Takashi Takei, has officially designated the period from September 19 to September 25, 2025, as "Tokyu Hotels' SDGs Week 2025." During this week, a total of 45 hotels across the country will implement two significant initiatives aimed at fostering a sustainable society: a digital stamp rally open to guests and a nationwide beautification campaign by hotel associates.

Celebrating Global Goals Week

This initiative marks the celebration of the anniversary of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were adopted by the United Nations on September 25, 2015. This period is globally recognized as Global Goals Week, during which numerous events centered around sustainable development take place worldwide. Since 2019, Tokyu Hotels has embraced a sustainability policy that encapsulates being "kind to the Earth, the community, and people." By deeply recognizing the importance of the SDGs, the organization strives for a sustainable society through its hotel operations.

Engaging Guests with the Digital Stamp Rally

The "Digital Stamp Rally for SDGs" allows guests to participate in sustainable actions during their stay. This interactive experience employs a digital format where participants can engage in actions that promote sustainability. The stamp rally encompasses six actionable tasks, including:
1. Participating in the Green Coin program, where guests can exchange unused amenities for green coins to support environmental initiatives.
2. Ordering sustainable menu options, such as vegan dishes or locally sourced meals.
3. Answering quizzes related to Tokyu Hotels' sustainability initiatives.
This initiative is designed to be user-friendly by allowing guests to scan a QR code with their smartphones, which not only eliminates paper waste but also makes it easy for anyone to get involved.

Those who complete at least two of the specified actions during the week will receive a gift set of Fair Trade sustainable coffee and tea, collaborated with THIRD WORLD SHOP and creative art studio Kiki!! CREATIVE.

Nationwide Beautification Campaign

On September 25, coinciding with the anniversary of the SDGs adoption, Tokyu Hotels associates will actively partake in beautification efforts in their local neighborhoods. This initiative reflects the company’s gratitude to the communities in which it operates. Associates will don specially designed vests featuring the campaign's key visual to promote awareness regarding sustainability.

Commitment to Sustainable Practices

Tokyu Hotels & Resorts is dedicated to nurturing a hotel experience that prioritizes environmental consciousness and social responsibility. By championing these initiatives, the organization is committed to creating a “hotel that is friendly to the Earth, the community, and people.” President Takashi Takei emphasizes that this endeavor serves as a pivotal step toward further promoting sustainability and engaging guests in meaningful actions toward achieving a sustainable future.

Conclusion

As the hospitality industry moves toward more sustainable practices, Tokyu Hotels stands at the forefront with its innovative initiatives during the SDGs Week 2025. The combination of engaging guests through the stamp rally and enhancing local environments through beautification efforts epitomizes a holistic approach to sustainability in the hotel sector.
