Mark J. Golden Resigns as CEO of ADLM

Mark J. Golden, a pivotal figure in the healthcare sector, has announced he will step down as the Chief Executive Officer of the Association for Diagnostics & Laboratory Medicine (ADLM) on August 17, 2025. Under his leadership, ADLM—formerly known as AACC—has undergone significant transformations, especially during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Golden expressed pride in his achievements, stating, "I’m proud of what we've accomplished in advancing ADLM's mission of 'better health for all through laboratory medicine.'" He emphasized that he is leaving the organization well-positioned for future growth, reflecting a strong commitment to enhancing the realm of laboratory medicine.

Dr. Anthony Killeen, the current president of ADLM, praised Golden's leadership, particularly noting his courage and determination during the unprecedented challenges posed by the global pandemic. Since joining the organization in 2020, Golden has been instrumental in amplifying the association's presence, ensuring that the vital work of laboratory professionals received the recognition it deserves worldwide.

During his tenure, Golden initiated a comprehensive brand repositioning effort, which included changing the organization’s name to better align with its evolving role in the healthcare landscape. Prior to his role at ADLM, Golden held key leadership positions in various organizations, including the National Society of Professional Engineers and the National Court Reporters Association. His vast experience in association management and governmental relations has equipped him with unique insights into the realm of professional healthcare advocacy. Notably, he is recognized as a Fellow of the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and possesses the prestigious Key Award, showcasing his significant contributions to the field.
