Joe Depa Named Global Innovation Director at EY

London, November 27, 2024 - EY has recently announced the appointment of Joe Depa as its new Global Director of Innovation, effective immediately. In his new capacity, Depa will be responsible for heading the applied innovation strategy at EY, focusing on enhancing service delivery and assisting teams in tackling business challenges.

Depa steps into his role at a pivotal time, as numerous emerging technologies are radically altering industries, bringing a plethora of new challenges and opportunities. To stay ahead in this fast-paced environment, EY is making substantial investments in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Quantum Computing, and Blockchain. Furthermore, the organization has recently established the EY.ai Global AI Advisory Council.

As part of his responsibilities, Depa will oversee the implementation of these emerging technologies for practical commercial applications, both internally and when collaborating with EY's member firms and clients. Most recently, he served as the inaugural Director of Data and Artificial Intelligence at a leading healthcare organization and university, promoting AI literacy and responsible AI governance while securing a safe data environment. Before that, he held the role of Senior Executive and Global Leader of Data and AI at a multinational professional services firm, where he managed a team responsible for crafting and executing new AI products and services.
