European Media Delegation Explores GAC's Innovative Advances in Guangzhou
From January 13 to 16, 2025, GAC International conducted a media tour in Guangzhou, inviting representatives from Germany, Portugal, Finland, Poland, and Greece. The visit aimed to highlight GAC's advanced R&D capabilities, comprehensive supply chain, and world-class manufacturing processes that are pivotal to the future of the automotive industry.
During the tour, the media delegation explored GAC's state-of-the-art R&D Center, delving into groundbreaking technologies in new energy vehicles, smart connectivity, and lightweight design. Key innovations like advanced battery technologies and electric propulsion systems showcased GAC's commitment to pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering.
One of the key highlights of the tour included a visit to the GAC AION factory, renowned as the world's first NEV Lighthouse factory. Here, smart robotics, digital management systems, and rigorous quality control practices come together to ensure the highest standards in production. The delegation witnessed firsthand the cutting-edge battery charger, ultra-fast charging capabilities, and the innovative Quark Electric Drive, all of which underline GAC's leading position in the market.
The journalists also participated in a thrilling test drive of the HYPTEC SSR electric supercar, which impressively accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.9 seconds. This experience allowed them to appreciate the exceptional performance and capabilities of GAC's vehicles. They had the opportunity to drive notable models, including AION V, AION UT, AION Y, HYPTEC HT, GAC ES9, and GAC E9, under the guidance of professional instructors.
The AION V, in particular, is a strategic global model slated for launch in Europe, earning accolades for its smooth performance and high-tech features. The media engagement included a group discussion where GAC executives, including Wei Haigang (President of GAC International), Zhang Fan (VP of R&D), and Thomas Schemera (Global Operations Director), shared insights on market strategies, product plans, and localization efforts in Europe.
