MSI Unveils Advanced Multi-Node Server Solutions at 2025 OCP EMEA Summit
MSI Unveils Cutting-Edge Server Solutions at the 2025 OCP EMEA Summit
On April 29, 2025, MSI, a global leader in high-performance server solutions, made waves at the OCP EMEA Summit by presenting its new ORv3-compliant multi-node server platforms. The summit, which took place in Dublin on April 29-30, attracted attention for its focus on the latest advancements in data center technology.
At this event, MSI unveiled a range of high-density server platforms built upon the officially recognized DC-MHS architecture. These systems are specifically designed to support the latest AMD EPYC™ 9005 series processors. By prioritizing exceptional computing density, energy efficiency, and scalability, MSI's offerings aim to meet the evolving demands of modern, data-intensive data centers.
Danny Hsu, managing director of Enterprise Platform Solutions, expressed the company's excitement about contributing to open-source innovation and sustainability through its ongoing support for the Open Compute Project. "Our commitment to open standards and modular server architectures enables us to rapidly develop solutions tailored to customers’ specific needs, establishing MSI as a trusted partner for high-performance, scalable solutions," he remarked.
Features of MSI's New Server Platforms
Among the highlighted products was the Open Compute CD281-S4051-X2, a 21-inch ORv3-compliant 2OU 2-node server that is perfect for hyperscale deployments. Each node in this server supports a single CPU with a total thermal design power (TDP) of up to 500W, coupled with twelve DDR5 DIMM slots and up to twelve PCIe 5.0 E3.S NVMe drives. This impressive configuration ensures remarkable memory bandwidth and high-speed data throughput, making the server apt for intensive workloads.
Moreover, the system is equipped with Extended Volume Air Cooling (EVAC) CPU heat sinks and is compliant with the ORv3 48VDC power architecture, enhancing its energy-efficient capabilities while maintaining scalability—attributes that are essential for next-generation cloud data centers.
Additionally, MSI presented its Core Compute CD270-S4051-X4, a high-density 2U 4-node server also optimized for cloud computing under the OCP DC-MHS framework. Each autonomous node supports one AMD EPYC 9005 series processor, featuring twelve DDR5 DIMM slots and three PCIe 5.0 x4 U.2 NVMe drives. This architecture enables a robust processing capability, rapid storage access, and high memory bandwidth in a compact form factor.
The modular architecture, along with EVAC cooling support for up to 400W per node and integrated OCP NICs, offers thermal efficiency and seamless connectivity for performance-driven cloud implementations. With its official status as an OCP Solution Provider, MSI is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of open standards and data center design. Many of its server platforms have received the 'OCP Inspired' certification, which underscores their ability to provide rapid customized solutions tailored to specific client requirements. This certification demonstrates MSI's unyielding commitment to driving innovation and fostering an open compute ecosystem.
In conclusion, the 2025 OCP EMEA Summit served as a significant platform for MSI to showcase its latest technological advancements in multi-node server solutions. By focusing on energy efficiency and scalability, MSI indicates its readiness to support the demands of future data centers while remaining committed to open-source initiatives and sustainable practices.
