Significant Donations from Maltaka: Supporting Life-Saving Emergency Aid Efforts

Maltaka's Generous Contribution to Global Emergency Aid

Since 2022, the accessory brand Maltaka has made a remarkable total donation of 5 million yen to support life-saving emergency aid initiatives through ADRA Japan, a renowned nonprofit organization based in Shibuya, Tokyo. This commitment highlights Maltaka's dedication to corporate social responsibility as the company approaches its 100th anniversary in 2025, having been established nearly a century ago.

Maltaka's initiative is backed by a strong culture of social contribution that permeates the entire group. Their employees actively participate in fundraising efforts, with a recent donation aimed at providing relief for the victims of the devastating earthquake in Myanmar. Together with contributions from their employees, the total amounted to an impressive 1 million yen.

The generous donations have been allocated to several emergency aid projects that ADRA has been working on, including humanitarian assistance in Ukraine (starting in 2022), aid for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria (2023), and support for the victims of the recent earthquake in Myanmar (2025).

During the humanitarian support for Ukraine, the funds were utilized to provide winter assistance to those struggling to survive amidst energy shortages. Additionally, it supported psychosocial interventions for displaced individuals seeking refuge outside their home country. In response to the Turkey-Syria earthquake, resources were allocated for essentials such as food, sanitary products, water, blankets, and cooking appliances, as well as improving the conditions of evacuation centers.

This year's Myanmar earthquake relief efforts have focused on providing cash assistance, which allows affected individuals to purchase necessary food and materials to repair their homes, offering them greater flexibility in addressing their urgent needs.

ADRA Japan's Secretary-General, Yasuki Aoki, expressed profound gratitude for Maltaka's continuous support, emphasizing that their contributions ensure essential aid reaches those in need. He commented, "I have heard that you place great importance on whether support reaches those who are struggling. Your consistent trust in our activities is a significant encouragement for our staff working on the ground."

Aoki also acknowledged the collective effort of Maltaka's entire workforce in participating in fundraising efforts, stating, "Knowing that all employees share the commitment to supporting those in need gives us great strength."

As Maltaka approaches its centenary, they are recognized for their unwavering dedication to empathy and action. This strong sense of purpose is not only commendable but also inspires ongoing efforts to protect the lives and dignity of individuals around the world.

ADRA Japan operates globally, with branches across approximately 120 countries, functioning as Japan’s branch of the world’s largest international NGO, ADRA. They work tirelessly alongside various partners, including other ADRA branches and the United Nations, to provide support irrespective of race, religion, or political affiliation. They are committed to assisting individuals in conflict or disaster-affected areas, facilitating their path toward self-reliance.

It is important to note that donations made to ADRA Japan are eligible for tax deductions as it is a certified nonprofit organization. As maltaka continues its philanthropic journey, it sets a significant precedent for corporate enthusiasm in social responsibility efforts.
