Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation Grants Over $3 Million to Community Nonprofits

The Dominion Energy Charitable Foundation has recently distributed more than $3 million in grants to nonprofit organizations across various states. This significant contribution aims to support numerous projects that enhance community welfare and promote sustainability in the regions where Dominion Energy operates.

Among the most notable allocations, roughly $2.4 million has been awarded to 171 nonprofits in Virginia. The grants are intended to empower organizations focusing on a diverse range of critical areas, including education, health services, and environmental stewardship. These initiatives will help teach children in underserved communities about healthy eating and gardening while enhancing access to financial literacy services in rural areas. Furthermore, the funding will aid nonprofit efforts in providing trauma-informed mental health services, rehabilitating native wildlife, and expanding support for older adults in need.

Key Beneficiaries

Some of the standout recipients of these grants include:
  • - Friends of Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, which will work on planting trees in a 135-acre urban green space, thereby promoting environmental care.
  • - PathForward in Arlington is slated to enhance access to healthcare through its Mobile Medical Program, ensuring essential services reach those who need them most.
  • - The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank in Hampton will utilize its grant to run the Food for Kids BackPack Program, providing meals for children during weekends and extended school breaks.
