Launching the Community for Collaboration in Local Banking with AI to Address Future Challenges

Launch of the 'Local Bank AI Community'

In a significant move to reshape the future of regional banking, Helpfeel, based in Kyoto, Japan, has announced the establishment of the 'Local Bank AI Community.' This initiative aims to leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) for operational reform and revitalization of local economies by collaborating with various regional banks across Japan. The community has already gained endorsement from four participating banks, focusing on promoting digital transformation (DX) through the utilization of AI.

Addressing Challenges: The Need for AI in Local Banking

Local banks are currently facing a common challenge: the shortage of skilled personnel. This issue is exacerbated by Japan's aging population and the trend of younger individuals gravitating towards urban centers, creating a deepening talent crisis in regional banking institutions. Additionally, the complexity of financial systems and workflows hinders productivity, further necessitating operational reforms to ensure efficient management of diverse tasks with limited resources.

In this context, the application of AI technology for enhancing efficiency, facilitating knowledge sharing, and improving customer interaction has become increasingly crucial. For local banks, integrating AI is not only a means of driving business transformation but also a path to increasing the region's digital literacy overall.

At Helpfeel, we have been addressing various shared challenges faced by local banks through our consulting services aimed at operational efficiency. Our AI solutions in customer service and helpdesk domains, such as the 'Helpfeel FAQ' search-based system and 'Helpfeel Cosense', designed to enhance knowledge creation and organization, have been central to our efforts since our inception.

With the full-scale adoption of AI on the rise, the importance of the knowledge and information that AI systems reference has become even more paramount. Our vision is to combine 'AI' with 'knowledge' to support regional banks in innovating their operations and contributing to the revitalization of local communities. The 'Local Bank AI Community' will serve as a platform where we share our latest insights on AI technology with regional banks, and facilitate mutual learning of practical examples and strategies among the participating institutions.
