New Toshima Health Center Opens
Toshima Ward has officially opened its new health center on May 7, 2023, after relocating the Ikebukuro Health Center to a new redevelopment facility, Mirazo Ikebukuro North Tower, in the Minami-Ikebukuro neighborhood. The center, now named "Toshima Ward Health Center", aims to be a pivotal point for public health, focusing on enhancing the lives and health of its residents.
Objectives and Functions of the New Health Center
The newly established health center emphasizes new initiatives such as "Enjoyable Health Promotion", effective information dissemination, and targeted action for young women. By enhancing specialized services and expanding support for health promotion, the center is poised to better protect the lives and health of the community.
On the second floor, the health center features a comprehensive consultation desk for residents, health examination receptions, various consultation rooms, and a holiday medical clinic, all designed to improve efficiency and convenience. The third floor houses various outlets for permits and permissions as well as a conference room that will function as a medical response headquarters in case of emergencies.
A new health promotion support center called "Watashi Maintenance Lab" was established on the second floor with the mission of helping residents gain insights into their health and encourage behavioral change towards prevention. This lab-like space includes a health measurement corner, health consultation area, and health information zone, where residents can perform self-checks on their health. Qualified health concierges, including registered dietitians and public health nurses, are available for health consultations. This initiative offers a space for residents to engage with their health and aims to support community wellness.
Furthermore, in collaboration with Nagoya University, an AI project named "Toshima Community Compass" is set to launch, providing personalized community circle recommendations, outing spots, and even comic suggestions based on individual health composition measurements and local activity information.
