Introduction
EIZO Corporation, headquartered in Hakusan City, Ishikawa, has unveiled its latest offering for broadcast and video production markets: the
ColorEdge CG2400SV. This 24.1-inch color management monitor is set to launch on
October 28, 2025, with an open price, offering a reference price of
322,300 yen (tax included) from EIZO's direct sales. This evolution of the previously released ColorEdge CG2400S from April 2025 integrates much-desired SDI (Serial Digital Interface) input and output ports, thereby enhancing the workflow for film and broadcast professionals.
Key Features
The ColorEdge CG2400SV is specifically designed to meet the needs of the broadcasting industry. By replacing the USB Type-C® input with SDI connections, this monitor allows users direct connection to cameras equipped with SDI outputs—streamlining setup for on-site shooting and enabling quick reference of broadcast footage without the need for converters alongside multiple monitors at broadcasting stations.
Unique Features of the CG2400SV
- - SDI Input/Output Ports: The CG2400SV offers 3G-SDI Level A and HD-SDI connectivity, making it the second model in EIZO's lineup to support SDI, following the flagship ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG1. This addition significantly expands solution options for users.
- - Headphone Jack: Allows for seamless audio monitoring without external distractions during production work, enhancing creativity and focus.
Following in the Footsteps of the CG2400S
The CG2400SV retains all advantageous features seen in the CG2400S, which include:
- - Support for both HLG and PQ formats of HDR (High Dynamic Range) for versatile content handling.
- - Brightness levels reaching 400 cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1800:1, providing vivid, lifelike imagery.
- - An in-built calibration sensor for automatic color management, promoting high fidelity in color representation, which is essential for accurate visual storytelling.
- - It offers wide color space coverage, achieving 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut and including broadcasting standard BT.2020 color modes. These modes can be easily switched via a button at the front of the monitor, simplifying color management depending on the project requirements.
- - Connections via DisplayPort and HDMI inputs, supplemented with four USB ports for peripheral connectivity.
Commitment to Sustainability
EIZO has committed to environmentally friendly practices by using recycled materials in the manufacturing process.
85% of the exterior consists of recycled plastics. The company also emphasizes the importance of sustainable packaging, employing materials made from recycled cardboard and paper. This initiative not only reduces plastic waste but actively promotes the responsible utilization of limited resources.
Additional Features
The monitor also features a magnet-installable sun hood for easy installation, alongside sophisticated functions like:
- - Sync Signal function for automatic color mode switching, reducing the possibility of production errors.
- - Pixel Inspection function to avert the need for rework due to setup errors, helping streamline production workflow.
- - Warning functions for out-of-gamut colors and luminance, tailored expressly for video production tasks.
