In a groundbreaking move, Samsung Electronics Japan has announced that all 20 models of the Samsung Galaxy series will now support au Starlink Direct's innovative satellite data communication service. This marks a major milestone as it is recognized as the world's first direct satellite communication compatible with smartphones. The transition begins today, with gradual updates starting for the devices, allowing users to access satellite data communication without any additional application process.

  • - Scheduled between late October 2025: Galaxy Z Fold6 | Z Fold5 | Z Fold4, Galaxy Z Flip6 | Z Flip5 | Z Flip4, Galaxy S24 | S24 Ultra | S24 FE | S23 | S23 Ultra | S23 FE | S22 | S22 Ultra, Galaxy A55 5G | A54 5G | A53 5G, and Galaxy A25 5G.

In addition, a range of SIM-free devices will be eligible for the au Starlink Direct service, including:
  • - Expected by October 15, 2025: Galaxy Z Fold7, Z Fold6, Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip7, Z Flip6, Z Flip5, Galaxy S25 | S25 Ultra | S24 | S24 Ultra | S24 FE | S23 Ultra, and Galaxy A36 5G | A25 5G.
