Supporting Tokyo Residents with the Tokyo App
Tokyo's official application, known as the Tokyo App, aims to connect each resident with the government using the convenience of their smartphones. This innovative approach enhances the ease of accessing various administrative services, reflecting the city's commitment to digital improvement in public services.
To further promote the adoption of the Tokyo App and support the daily lives of residents, Tokyo will implement the "Tokyo App Life Support Project" until April 1, 2024. This initiative enables individuals who have their My Number Card verified to quickly and efficiently receive Tokyo Points, a form of incentive offered by the city.
In-Person Support Initiatives
Recognizing that many citizens may be unfamiliar with smartphone operations, Tokyo is rolling out in-person support at various municipal facilities across the city. This face-to-face assistance is scheduled to begin gradually, making it easier for those less familiar with technology to engage with the Tokyo App Life Support Project. Notably, starting September 11, in-person assistance will also be available at the Tokyo Metropolitan Archives, serving as a key location in the Tama region.
Previously, such support was limited to the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly’s administrative gallery; however, this expansion allows for more local access, ensuring that citizens can obtain help closer to home.
