In a significant development for community libraries, Book Off Corporation announced its partnership with Higashiyamato City. The agreement, signed on February 4, 2026, during a ceremony at the Higashiyamato City Hall, grants Book Off the naming rights to the Higashiyamato City Central Library, which will henceforth be known as the "BOOKOFF Higashiyamato City Central Library." This partnership will run for five years, from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031.

With this strategic move, Higashiyamato City aims to secure financial sustainability through the introduction of naming rights, which will aid in the continued operation of the library. This initiative follows a public call, where Book Off stood out as the chosen partner based on their robust community contributions and commitment to promoting reuse. The library is envisioned to serve as a vibrant hub for reading, learning, and information gathering, particularly for the citizens of Higashiyamato.

Founded in 1990, Book Off has developed alongside approximately 60 affiliated companies under the guiding principle of contributing to society through business activities while pursuing the happiness of all employees, both materially and spiritually. With nearly 800 stores operating domestically and internationally, Book Off's influence in the reuse sector continues to grow.
