U.S. GoldMining Achieves Milestone with Successful 2026 Drill Program at Whistler Project

U.S. GoldMining Inc., listed on NASDAQ as USGO, has recently marked a significant milestone with the successful completion of its 2026 exploration program at the wholly-owned Whistler Gold-Copper Project, situated in Alaska. This initiative is hailed as the most extensive drilling effort undertaken by the company since its inception, demonstrating the firm’s commitment to advancing mineral exploration in this promising region.

The comprehensive drilling program spanned an impressive 7,493 meters, thereafter achieving completion of 17 core drill holes throughout ten designated high-priority target areas known collectively as the ‘Whistler Orbit’. This undertaking aimed to uncover new gold-copper mineralized porphyry intrusions and to further delineate existing mineral systems, showcasing the company's strategic approach to maximizing the potential of its mineral resources.

Spanning an expansive 53,700 acres, the Whistler land package extends far beyond the current estimated mineral resources. Located in an area characterized by a classic porphyry cluster, the ‘Whistler Orbit’ covers a remarkable 7.5 km by 4.5 km area, incorporating key deposits such as Whistler and Raintree. The Island Mountain mineral system, located to the south, additionally hosts inferred mineral resources along with a number of other important exploration targets. Notably, the company has identified the Muddy Creek mineral system which shows promise for hosting new gold mineralization.

The Whistler Gold-Copper Project is estimated to contain approximately 5.41 million ounces of gold equivalent in indicated resources, alongside an additional 4.97 million ounces in inferred resources across the major deposits including Whistler, Raintree West, and Island Mountain. The March 2026 initial assessment of the Whistler Project, which included a preliminary economic assessment (PEA), outlined a robust after-tax net present value (NPV) of $2.04 billion and an internal rate of return (IRR) of 33.0%, predicting a payback period of only 2.1 years. This analysis conservatively considers solely the indicated mineral resources from the Whistler deposit, reflecting the company’s potential for significant profitability.

Sample processing and core logging at the site are progressing well, with initial assay results anticipated in the following weeks and extending through the end of 2026, depending on laboratory processing times. Tim Smith, the Chief Executive Officer of U.S. GoldMining, expressed optimism regarding the program's outcomes, stating, "Our 2026 drilling program concluded safely, on schedule and on budget. We drilled a record 7,493 meters across 17 drill holes testing 10 individual target areas for potential new zones of gold-copper mineralization. By targeting the Whistler Orbit, we are aggressively hunting for the next major porphyry center potentially situated right next door to our primary Whistler deposit, which underpins our robust base case PEA. Expanding across our district-scale property, we made exciting progress on exploration target areas at Island Mountain, Muddy Creek, and Long Lake Hills. We look forward to providing the market with updates on assay results over the coming months."

In summary, U.S. GoldMining has demonstrated substantial progress in its exploration efforts at the Whistler Project, revealing the immense potential for further discoveries that could strengthen its resources and economic viability. As the company continues to advance its objectives within the mining sector, stakeholders can anticipate further updates regarding the promising exploration developments in the coming months.
