A New Era for Hyatt in Sapporo

Hyatt Hotels is set to make its debut in Sapporo with the anticipated opening of the Hyatt Centric Sapporo in the autumn of 2026. Nestled in the heart of Sapporo, directly facing the historic Hokkaido Government Office, this modern boutique hotel promises a unique and adventurous stay for both local and international travelers.

Situated within the UrbanNet Sapporo Link Tower, the Hyatt Centric Sapporo will feature 216 rooms, including nine luxurious suites, all offering breathtaking views of the city's skyline. The hotel aims to be a hub for exploring the vibrant culture and attractions of Sapporo and Hokkaido, equipped with a full-service restaurant and bar highlighting local ingredients, a 24-hour fitness center, and versatile event spaces. Its prime location is just a short 10-minute walk from Sapporo Station, making it easily accessible for guests arriving via the underground pedestrian network, while also being surrounded by historical and natural landmarks like the iconic Odori Park.

Leadership Under Yuuki Takimura

Yuuki Takimura has been appointed as General Manager of the Hyatt Centric Sapporo, bringing over two decades of hospitality experience to the role. After starting his career at Park Hyatt Tokyo in 2002, Takimura honed his skills primarily in the F&B department. In 2006, he joined The Peninsula Hotels as an ambassador, gaining invaluable experience in global cities such as Bangkok, New York, and Chicago. His leadership in food and beverage departments across major locations like Tokyo, Manila, and Hong Kong set the stage for his role in opening Park Hyatt Niseko Hanazono in 2019, where he later became the Deputy General Manager. Most recently, he served as Director of Operations for Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Japan and Micronesia, overseeing 23 properties.
