DuPont, a leader in sustainable innovation, has officially launched the nominating process for the 2nd Annual Tyvek® Sustainable Healthcare Packaging Awards. This prestigious program is aimed at acknowledging organizations and companies striving for sustainability within the healthcare packaging sector. The awards honor healthcare companies that utilize DuPont's Tyvek® material effectively in their packaging strategies to foster environmental consciousness.
Nominations and Categories
The awards are open to a wide range of participants, including pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers, sterile packaging producers, healthcare facilities, universities, and material recovery organizations that emphasize sustainability in their production processes. Notably, submissions are encouraged for initiatives implemented within 18 months prior to the application period. This timeframe is critical as it ensures that participants can showcase recent sustainable achievements and measurable outcomes.
Kelly Reichert, DuPont's global business director for Tyvek® and Typar® Roll Goods, expresses pride in the awards, highlighting their alignment with DuPont's commitment to advancing innovations that enhance patient safety while promoting sustainability. In its second year, the program continues to shine a spotlight on the valuable contributions from various sectors of the healthcare industry, showcasing how they are integrating sustainable practices into their operations.

Sustainability Commitment
This awards initiative complements DuPont's overarching strategy aimed at enabling a circular economy and addressing sustainability within global supply chains. As part of its commitment to combat climate change, DuPont has set a goal to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, continuing the momentum that began with substantial reductions in their emissions since 2019. This includes a remarkable 58% decrease in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 39% reduction in Scope 3 emissions associated with their purchased goods and services by 2024.
DuPont's Tyvek® manufacturing facilities in Luxembourg and Richmond, Virginia, boast ISCC PLUS certification, affirming their dedication to utilizing renewable energy sources, which underlines the company's mission of sustainability.
