Brisk Teaching Secures $15 Million Series A to Transform K-12 Education with AI

Brisk Teaching Secures Major Funding for Educational Innovation

Brisk Teaching, a pioneer in artificial intelligence solutions for K-12 education, has successfully secured $15 million in its Series A funding round. This significant investment, led by Bessemer Venture Partners, also saw contributions from Owl Ventures, South Park Commons, and Springbank Collective. The funding aims to propel Brisk's evolution from its initial offering of AI tools to a more comprehensive classroom agent that effectively addresses the needs of both educators and students.

Brisk Teaching has rapidly gained traction, with over one million educators from more than a hundred countries already integrating its platform into their teaching practices. This funding will support the company's mission to alleviate teacher burnout, combat existing challenges in classroom management, and provide tailored support for students, further enhancing the learning experience.

The alarming rise in teacher burnout due to current educational pressures and a notable shortage of educators underscores the necessity of Brisk’s innovation. By delivering an AI-driven extension that merges seamlessly into existing workflows, Brisk reduces the time teachers spend on administrative tasks such as resource creation and grading—potentially saving them up to 10 hours a week. This optimization allows educators to refocus their energy on what truly matters: developing authentic relationships with their students.

Arman Jaffer, the founder of Brisk Teaching, remarked, "Generative AI is set to automate a large portion of digital work across various sectors in the forthcoming decade. In education, this transformation holds significant promise by freeing educators to engage meaningfully with their students, which is paramount. However, the fragmentation of legacy classroom tools presents a challenge that Brisk aims to tackle by unifying workflows through its platform.”

At its core, Brisk Teaching’s focus is on creating a unified educational framework that replaces outdated systems with an innovative AI-native educational technology stack designed for true end-to-end automation.

Since its previous funding round of $5 million last September, Brisk has impressive growth, having expanded its user base by a staggering five-fold, and has partnered with more than 2,000 schools. These partnerships have been built on a foundation of prioritizing student privacy and data protection, an aspect highlighted by Rachel Yurk, CTO of the Pewaukee School District. “Brisk stands out for the robust safeguards it implements to protect student information, which has been corroborated by acknowledgments from various reputable organizations in the education sector, including the Student Privacy Pledge and Common Sense Media,” she stated.

With this additional funding, Brisk Teaching is poised to invest significantly in product development, aiming to empower educators, students, and school administrators so they can tailor the Brisk experience to their specific needs. Kent Bennett from Bessemer Venture Partners expressed his enthusiasm, noting that both teachers and students have shown great appreciation for the platform. “The team is utilizing this momentum to build a larger AI ecosystem meant to replace outdated educational tools that have hindered innovation for years.”

As Brisk Teaching continues to grow and refine its product, it remains committed to its dual goals of enhancing learning outcomes and supporting educators across the globe. To explore Brisk Teaching and access their Chrome extension, visit Brisk Teaching’s website.
