Four Roses Celebrates 138 Years with New Anthology Series Launch

Four Roses Unveils Anthology Series: A New Chapter in Bourbon History

In a significant development for whiskey enthusiasts, Four Roses Distillery has announced the launch of its new annual series named Anthology, showcasing rare and highly limited releases. This series, which began on June 2, 2026, marks a bold and celebratory tribute to the distillery's rich history, spanning 138 years.

Origins of the Anthology Series

The series aims to narrate distinct chapters from the brand's storied past, reflecting the moments, people, and craftsmanship that have defined Four Roses over the decades. The first release, Chapter One: Origin, holds a special place as it is the oldest bourbon the brand has ever released—a 21-year-old whiskey that tells the tale of its inception in 1888. Founder Paul Jones Jr. derived inspiration for the brand's name from a heartfelt moment when he proposed to his beloved, who attended a ball adorned with a corsage of four red roses.

Brent Elliott, the Master Distiller at Four Roses, expressed, "This release represents more than just age; it symbolizes legacy. With Anthology, we wanted to craft a series that tells the deeper narratives behind Four Roses through intentional and rare releases. Chapter One Origin pays homage to the moment that inspired our name and the values of connection and passion that continue to define our brand today."

A Taste of History

Crafted using the OBSF recipe, known for its delicate herbal notes and rich fruit character, Chapter One has been masterfully aged for 21 years. This meticulous aging results in a layered and sophisticated bourbon, with an alcohol content of up to 124.9 proof. The aroma offers enticing notes of deep apricot blended with vanilla and spiced mint, while the palate unveils creamy oak tones augmented by ripe cherry, cacao, and rich honey. The finish leaves a lasting impression with its antique oak essence and lingering fruit.

Engaging Experiences and Community Connection

The launch of the Anthology series coincides with a broader campaign named Meet Me with Four Roses, focusing on the significance of shared moments in life. This campaign emphasizes intimate gatherings where individuals can connect more deeply, all complemented by a glass of Four Roses Bourbon. To further engage with the community, Four Roses will host a pop-up experience at its original headquarters on Louisville's historic Whiskey Row. This event will offer guests an intimate exploration of the brand's history, craftsmanship, and the story behind Chapter One Origin.

Availability and Rarity

Chapter One Origin will be available exclusively at the Four Roses Visitor Center starting July 10, with a limited release of only 1,200 bottles. The bourbon will also be featured during a special event at Whiskey Row on July 11, priced at $500, making it not just a drink but a collector's item.
