Japan's First All-Facial Recognition Apartment

DXYZ Co., Ltd., headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has taken a significant step in the rental real estate sector by implementing its innovative facial recognition ID platform, FreeiD, at COMFORIA Rive Higashi-Nakano. This apartment complex by Tokyu Land Corporation marks a groundbreaking initiative as Japan’s first all-facial recognition residence, set to complete in June 2025 and begin accepting residents by late July.

The COMFORIA series by Tokyu Land is designed to provide residents with not only convenience and comfort but also sustainability for modern living. COMFORIA Rive boasts a three-story structure with a basement, integrating facial recognition technology throughout the premises, including in private units. After a successful trial experience with FreeiD, feedback highlighted advantages such as speed of recognition, ease of implementation, and potential for expanded services. Consequently, after deploying FreeiD in another property under construction in March 2025, the decision was made to incorporate it in this second building as well.

Initiating facial recognition at shared entrances, delivery boxes, and private entrances, FreeiD effectively enhances security while providing seamless access even when residents' hands are full. This solution addresses the evolving needs of customers with its advanced technology and high-level security features.
