Boston is preparing to launch its inaugural winter festival, the Boston Frostival, designed to celebrate the beauty and excitement of winter in the city. Meet Boston, the driving force behind this initiative, announced that the festival is set to kick off in late November and continue through February, featuring a comprehensive array of events that will transform Boston into a winter wonderland.

Transforming Winter in Boston


With a commitment to enhancing winter tourism, the Boston Frostival combines traditional seasonal activities with innovative experiences. The city is already famous for its winter programming, which includes popular events like Snowport and the SoWa Winter Festival. The Boston Frostival will take these beloved traditions and elevate them with new offerings, creating a truly remarkable experience for both locals and visitors.

Highlights of the Frostival will include:
  • - Weekly Drone Shows: Every Saturday night from November 29 to December 20, the skies will light up over Boston Common with stunning illuminated drone performances. Two shows will take place each night, offering a spectacle for all.
  • - Copley Square Winter Activation: An immersive seasonal experience will be set up in the heart of Back Bay during the Winter Games in Milan, running from February 6 to February 28. This activation will provide Boston residents and tourists a variety of interactive experiences and activities.
  • - Ferris Wheel on the Rose Kennedy Greenway: The month of February will also see a Ferris wheel providing breathtaking panoramic views of the city, enhancing the overall festival atmosphere.
  • - Femme Fête Wine Festival: Scheduled for February 28 at the Cyclorama, this event will celebrate women winemakers from around the globe, offering a premier tasting experience for wine enthusiasts.
