Darigold Appoints Amy Humphreys as New Chief Executive Officer Amid Expansion
Darigold Welcomes Amy Humphreys as the New CEO
In a pivotal moment for the dairy industry, Darigold, Inc., one of America's leading dairy producers, has named Amy Humphreys as its new Chief Executive Officer. This appointment marks a significant return for Humphreys, who previously held the role of Chief Financial Officer at Darigold from 2015 to 2018. Starting October 1, 2025, she will take over the reins from Allan Huttema, who guided the company through a crucial transitional period beginning in 2023.
A Strong Background in Leadership
Humphreys brings with her a wealth of experience in the food manufacturing and energy sectors, showcasing a career molded by leadership in vertically integrated businesses. Tim Kuenzi, the Chairman of Darigold's board, expressed confidence in Humphreys' ability to drive the company forward, citing her proven track record focusing on business performance, responsible resource management, and value expansion. These attributes are particularly critical as Darigold embarks on its modernization and growth initiatives.
At the time of her appointment, Darigold is poised to open a new production facility in Pasco, Washington, which is expected to streamline operations and enhance efficiency. This facility's launch represents an exciting opportunity for growth and aligns well with the company's strategic goals.
Extensive Experience and Commitment to Growth
Beyond her previous tenure at Darigold, Humphreys has excelled in various C-level executive positions across the food manufacturing and petroleum industries. Highlighting her diverse expertise, she serves on multiple boards for both private and publicly traded companies. Additionally, Humphreys holds a position on the Economic Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Board 12th District and is part of the Nominating Committee for CoBank, a key financial institution supporting agricultural firms.
Her academic qualifications include a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington Foster School of Business, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Finance from Puget Sound University. Furthermore, she is a Certified Public Accountant in Washington, adding substantial knowledge and credibility to her role.
Transition and Future Vision
Kuenzi commended Huttema's leadership, acknowledging the progress achieved under his guidance—specifically referring to the establishment of the new Pasco facility and the strengthening of the company’s leadership team. As Huttema returns to his Idaho dairy farm, Kuenzi emphasized that the company is in good hands with Humphreys at the helm, particularly as it enters this significant new chapter.
