Lucid Air Grand Touring Sets New Longest EV Range Record in Norway's NAF Winter Test

Lucid Air Grand Touring Sets New Record at NAF Winter Test 2026

In an impressive showcase of the Lucid Air Grand Touring's capabilities, the vehicle achieved a record-breaking distance of 520 kilometers during the harsh NAF Winter Test held in Norway. This year’s test marked one of the coldest on record, with temperatures plunging to minus 31 degrees Celsius. The journey took the Lucid Air from Oslo to the breathtaking Norwegian highlands, navigating through urban traffic, mountain roads, and highways, all without requiring a single charging stop.

Lucid Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: LCID), known for producing the world's most advanced electric vehicles, has once again set a benchmark in electric vehicle performance. The nearest rival in this year's test managed to cover 421 kilometers, further emphasizing the Air Grand Touring's superiority in range.

Unmatched Electric Powertrain Technology

At the core of the Lucid Air Grand Touring is Lucid’s pioneering electric powertrain technology, boasting an impressive WLTP range of up to 960 kilometers and a consumption rate of just 13.5 kWh/100 km. This combination not only positions the Lucid Air as a leader in its segment but also showcases what is possible with contemporary electric vehicle design and engineering.

According to Lawrence Hamilton, President of Europe at Lucid, the performance observed during the NAF Winter Test is a testament to the company's commitment to innovation. “We are proud to participate in the NAF Winter Test for the first time. It’s fair to say that the Lucid Air Grand Touring is the king of range – even under extreme winter conditions,” Hamilton remarked. His comments underscore the valuable insights this test provides into real-world electric vehicle performance, showcasing how far Lucid has come in electric vehicle technology.

The Features and Performance that Define Lucid

Notably, the Lucid Air Grand Touring is not just about range. It delivers an astonishing output of 611 kW (or 831 PS) and can reach a top speed of 270 kilometers per hour. Moreover, its fast-charging capability allows the battery to regain up to 400 kilometers of range in a mere 16 minutes. Designed with comfort in mind, the sedan comfortably seats five passengers, featuring an interior crafted with high-quality materials for enhanced passenger experience.

This remarkable vehicle had already made headlines previously when it set a new record for the longest range in the NAF Summer Test in 2025, covering an extraordinary 828.6 kilometers—surpassing the prior record of 672 kilometers established in 2023. Additionally, the Lucid Air Grand Touring is recognized in the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ for the longest journey by an electric vehicle on a single charge, achieving an incredible distance of 1,205 kilometers in July 2025.
