Join Fun Learning Events at the 3rd Annual Odd Summer School in Aichi

Dive into the Third Annual Odd Summer School!

The highly anticipated 3rd Annual Odd Summer School kicks off on July 21, 2025, featuring innovative learning adventures designed to engage kids and adults alike. Hosted in Aichi by Crispy Cream Doughnuts Japan (KKDJ) and a collaborative effort of 46 companies, this event promises to inspire and entertain participants with unique workshops and hands-on experiences.

Born from the desire to make Aichi’s culture vibrant and fun, the Odd Summer School has evolved each year since its inception. Originating from an initiative by Kasugai Seika, which has been around for 97 years, the first edition involved just 11 companies. This number increased to 29 in the second year, and now, for the third installment, a record 46 companies are joining forces to bring 27 enriching events that focus on education, creativity, and collaboration.

KKDJ has been a part of this journey since the very beginning. Over the years, it has engaged in sharing delightful doughnuts at events and has collaborated on special doughnut flavors tied to the school. This year, the company will co-host two exciting workshops that promise to captivate young minds:

1. Yatte Mirin Pic in Higashi Mikawa – This workshop will offer children hands-on experiences that are both educational and fun. It features various activities, including a special session titled “Become a Doughnut Professional!”, where participants can experiment with their own doughnut decorating skills and learn about the art behind making these sweet treats.

2. Odd Doughnut Development Room – Here, participants can embark on a culinary adventure, experimenting with unusual flavor pairings like shirasu, miso, and sauces that spark creativity in product development. KKDJ will share insider tips and tricks from their product development team, allowing participants to conceptualize potential new doughnut offerings that could become the next big trend!

In addition to these workshops, KKDJ will offer an exclusive original sleeve designed for the Odd Summer School. Starting from June 17, 2025, customers who purchase a six-pack of doughnuts at any of the locations in the Tokai area will receive this unique sleeve, which also contains a QR code linking to detailed information about the events lined up this summer.

The Odd Summer School will run from July 21 to August 31, 2025, across various locations in Aichi, including corporate offices and dedicated venues. With a variety of activities such as talk sessions and interactive workshops, the event aims to invigorate the local community and facilitate learning in an engaging setting.
