GAC Reports Impressive International Growth in Q1 Fueled by AION V and Hong Kong Expansion

GAC's Remarkable International Growth in Q1 2026



GAC, a prominent Chinese automotive manufacturer, has reported a significant expansion in its international sales for the first quarter of 2026. The company experienced a resounding success in March, with monthly sales of its own brands soaring to 17,031 units. This impressive performance has contributed to a cumulative total of 42,165 units sold in the first quarter, marking a staggering 86% increase compared to the same period last year.

The momentum behind GAC's achievement can largely be attributed to the introduction of its flagship model, the AION V, which recorded a remarkable increase in sales of 321% year-on-year for March alone. The AION V's spacious interior, intuitive cockpit design, advanced driver-assistance systems, and an impressive driving range of 510 kilometers have made it a highly sought-after vehicle across various international markets.

In the Asia-Pacific region, GAC continued to dominate, with Singapore and Thailand posting sales increases of 304% and 99% year-on-year, respectively. Notably, Hong Kong has seen a historic breakthrough in its market performance, with wholesale sales nearing 2,000 units in March alone, accompanied by the submission of over 2,500 registration documents. This achievement placed Hong Kong third in local vehicle registrations, establishing a new benchmark for GAC in the region. In response to this surge, GAC has launched six flagship models in Hong Kong while also establishing a comprehensive sales network and dedicated express logistics system to facilitate faster delivery times.

In Europe, GAC has made consistent progress, with Portugal and Poland witnessing increases of 37% and 300% month-on-month respectively. Furthermore, the AION UT has commenced production in Austria, marking a pivotal step in the company's localization efforts in manufacturing.
