Polaris and RZR Factory Racing Achieve Historic Triumph at 2025 SCORE Baja 500 with 1-2-3 Podium Sweep

Polaris and RZR Factory Racing Make History

In a remarkable display of automotive prowess and driving skill, the Polaris RZR Factory Racing team dominated the 2025 SCORE Baja 500, making headlines with a perfect 1-2-3 finish in the UTV category. This significant achievement not only highlights the team’s top-tier performance but also showcases the strength of the RZR Pro R Factory vehicles that powered them through the challenging Baja terrain.

Setting the Stage for Victory

After a brief hiatus, the SCORE Championship resumed with its 57th edition of the iconic Baja 500, and the ambiance was electric as competitors awaited the start. The RZR lineup was positioned strategically based on their previous finish in the San Felipe 250™. Brock Heger kicked off the race from the front line, setting the tone for the day. Following him were teammates Max Eddy Jr., Cayden MacCachren, and Ethan Groom, all eager to unleash the power of the RZR Pro R Factory.

The backdrop of the desert, coupled with the excitement of racing, created an atmosphere of anticipation as the green flag waved. Heger took full advantage of his prime starting spot, showcasing the superior capabilities of his vehicle. The RZR Pro R Factory was designed for desert racing, boasting maximum power and finely-tuned control, allowing Heger to lead all 461 miles of the course without hesitation.

The Race Unfolds

As the race progressed, Heger demonstrated why he is viewed as one of the elite drivers in off-road racing. His flawless navigation through rough terrains secured him his seventh consecutive UTV overall victory and a commendable eighth-place finish among all four-wheel vehicles.

MacCachren, who started much further back, kicked into high gear around race mile 204, advancing into a strong position. As the second half of the race unfolded, he was relentless and pushed his RZR Pro R to an impressive finish in third place. This performance was later elevated to second overall due to penalties faced by competing vehicles, reinforcing Polaris's remarkable hold on the podium.

Groom, who commenced the race in the 14th position, made significant headway and was instrumental in flipping the standings. By mile 167, he had already claimed third place. His strategic handover to teammate Justin Morgan did not falter momentum, but post-race adjustments had them finishing in the third position overall due to timing corrections.

Behind the Scenes

Reflecting on this significant win, Alex Scheuerell, Director of Off-Road Motorsports at Polaris, expressed deep pride in the team’s ability to excel under pressure. He acknowledged the relentless efforts of both the drivers and the engineering team who contributed to the RZR Pro R’s unmatched performance, characterizing the podium sweep as a result of hard work and innovation.

Brock Heger shared his excitement post-race, stating, “This win streak is incredible, and being part of such a historic finish makes it even better. Our RZR Pro R Factory handled the harsh course impeccably, demonstrating the outstanding teamwork and dedication that went into our preparation.” This race not only marked a prestigious victory for Heger but also brought much-deserved attention to off-road racing, culminating in a national feature on CBS Morning's “Pushing the Limits,” which highlighted his extraordinary journey from humble beginnings to off-road success.
