Bears Launches Collaboration with Nagoya City for Household Support Services

Bears Launches Collaboration with Nagoya City

In a groundbreaking move to support families, Bears Inc., founded in October 1999 and now celebrating its 25th anniversary, has strengthened its partnerships with various municipalities to enhance childcare support services. Beginning June 18, 2025, Bears will participate as a home support service provider in Nagoya City’s pre-and postnatal assistance project. With this initiative, Bears aims to address the rising need for household and childcare support as families navigate the challenges posed by modern living.

Background and Context

As highlighted in the Cabinet decision of the ‘Basic Plan for Economic Policy 2024,’ a focus on household support services remains a priority, especially as Japan faces declining birth rates and the need for gender equality in the workplace. The importance of such services has grown amid increasing nuclear families and reduced community connections, making it more challenging for parents to seek immediate support. Many local governments are responding by enhancing their childcare and housework support initiatives, and Bears is at the forefront of this movement.

Nagoya City’s Pre-and Postnatal Assistance Program

The Nagoya City program aims to support pregnant women and new parents who face health issues that make household chores and childcare difficult. Families who can’t find assistance during the day can access Bears’ services, starting from just 805 yen per hour. Furthermore, there will be provisions for fee reductions based on the individual's municipal tax status for that fiscal year.

Future Directions for Bears

Bears is committed to continuously improving its service quality to ensure that families receive dependable, reassuring, safe, comfortable, and convenient support. The company plans to develop partnerships with more municipalities, organizations, and groups to contribute to creating a society where everyone can enjoy the life they envision. This collaborative spirit highlights Bears’ dedication to social responsibility and community engagement.

Recent Municipal Engagements

Bears has already engaged in multiple support projects across various municipalities, including:
  • - Tokyo: Several districts including Minato, Taito, Shibuya, and Setagaya have implemented support services for new parents.
  • - Fukuoka: The city has initiated its own pre-and postnatal assistance programs, demonstrating a growing commitment to family welfare.
  • - Kawasaki and Osaka: New projects aimed at providing further assistance to childcare households have recently been launched.

These partnerships illustrate the increasing recognition of the crucial role that support services play in easing parental challenges and the overall wellbeing of families. Bears seeks to be a trusted partner in this important initiative.
