This announcement marks a pivotal step for the agency, which has experienced explosive growth over recent years, marked by impressive collaborations with global brands such as KFC, KitKat, and PlayStation, among others.

Since its foundation in 2022, Courage has made a significant mark in the advertising landscape, achieving notable accolades including six Cannes Lions in just the last year. The agency's recognition extends to being named Agency of the Year at the Sports Clios, as well as being honored as Campaign's Canadian Creative Agency of the Year and Ad Age International Standout Agency. Such achievements set a high standard that the New York office is now expected to meet and exceed.

Leadership Team

Courage New York will be led by a dynamic trio: Steve Horn, Mina Mikhael, and Pauline Tastenhoye. Both Steve and Mina take on the role of Partners and Executive Creative Directors, coming from Translation where they headed the creative department and worked with prestigious brands like the NBA and Meta. Their exceptional tenure included collecting eight Emmy nominations and securing two Emmy awards for their campaigns, showcasing their creative prowess.

Pauline Tastenhoye joins as Managing Director, bringing a wealth of experience from her previous roles at award-winning agencies like Droga5 and Havas. Her expertise in leading integrated teams will be crucial as Courage aims to solidify its presence in the U.S. market.

Vision and Ambition

In their respective statements, Steve Horn emphasized the importance of a people-first approach in agency culture. He stated, “If you rally around people-first and seek out clients who you genuinely like working with, amazing things can happen.” Mina Mikhael echoed this sentiment, mentioning their admiration for the high standards of creativity established by Courage’s Canadian teams. The success stories from their Toronto and Montreal offices have inspired them to infuse their unique styles into the New York projects.

Looking Ahead

Courage is geared up to tackle its existing U.S. projects from lower Manhattan and aims to leverage its fresh talent and creative strategies to gain momentum. Founder Dhaval Bhatt expressed optimism for the future, stating, “Courage NY is an exciting new chapter in our journey, and we can’t wait for what’s ahead.”

As Courage embarks on this new endeavor, the creative community and clients alike are eager to see how this Canadian powerhouse brings its acclaimed creativity to the bustling market of New York. With its commitment to pushing boundaries in advertising and cultivating human connections through impactful campaigns, Courage is set to make waves in the ever-evolving landscape of U.S. advertising.

Through its New York office, Courage aims to continue its mission of inspiring brands to find their courage and translate that into compelling marketing narratives that resonate with audiences worldwide.
