Overview


On June 6, 2025, an important online seminar will be held focusing on the challenges and strategies for corporate data management aimed at effectively harnessing generative AI technology. This event is presented by the Mechanical Systems Promotion Association, which has been actively exploring the state and issues related to corporate data management in the context of generative AI. With a series of expert talks and discussions, the seminar promises to be a significant opportunity for learning and networking.

Purpose of the Event


In 2024, the association launched a forum chaired by Professor Hideaki Takeda from the National Institute of Informatics to examine the current status and challenges in corporate data management related to generative AI. Over five sessions, experts provided insights and there was engagement from committee members to generate comprehensive recommendations which culminated in a report by March 2025.

The upcoming seminar aims to share the latest advancements in the generative AI field and highlight trends in government and industry, alongside case studies of corporate initiatives. It will also delve into the challenges companies face while adopting generative AI for data utilization and outline key directions they should take in their endeavors.

Overview: The presentation will address Japan's comparative lag behind Western countries in high-level data analysis and the implementation of generative AI. Takeda will detail the challenges faced by Japanese firms in applying generative AI effectively and propose paths for future development and adaptation, hoping to inspire new business initiatives, akin to developments seen in Western markets through effective generative AI utilization.

  • - Session 2: Initiatives for Digital Infrastructure and Data Spaces for Data Linking via Generative AI (20 minutes)

Overview: This session will explore data spaces and digital infrastructure needed for cross-border information sharing in compliance with varying national regulations.
