Toyota Mobility Foundation Partners with Hotai Chunching to Improve Mobility for Seniors and Traffic Safety for Children in Taiwan

Improving Mobility for Seniors and Children in Taiwan

On April 24, 2026, the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) established a partnership with the Hotai Chunching Social Welfare Foundation at a signing ceremony in Taipei. This collaboration aims to enhance mobility for the elderly and promote traffic safety education for children across Taiwan.

Since its inception in 1974, the Hotai Chunching Foundation has dedicated itself to various public welfare activities in Taiwan, guided by the principle of "A Beautiful Life, A Harmonious Society." This new initiative, dubbed "MOBILITY FOR ALL—Aged, Children, Love," focuses on two critical areas: improving transport accessibility for seniors and implementing traffic safety education for the youth.

Key Initiatives

1. Enhancing Mobility for Seniors
In addressing the mobility challenges faced by older adults, the initiative will lower the barriers to digital navigation. The foundation aims to introduce intuitive tools to ensure seniors can confidently travel. Among the proposed features are:
- Say to Go: A voice-activated booking system that enables users to communicate their destination.
- Snap to Go: A photo-based ride arrangement tool that utilizes images of addresses to facilitate pickups.
- Connect to Go: A community support platform linking seniors, social workers, volunteers, drivers, and local organizations to foster collaborative transport solutions.

2. Traffic Safety Education for Children
Starting this May, the initiative will launch a traffic safety education program in schools across Taiwan. This initiative will utilize interactive theater performances by the Apple Theatre Group, engaging children in learning traffic rules through fun and vibrant storytelling. The goal is to instill safety habits that protect them in daily life.

Implementation Period

The collaborative program is set to run from April 2026 to December 2027. The operations will be supported by Hotai Motor Corporation. By combining the insights and expertise of TMF, the Hotai Chunching Foundation, and Hotai Motor, the initiative seeks to elevate mobility and improve living standards across generations within the community.

The Importance of this Collaboration

This partnership emphasizes the growing awareness of mobility issues faced by both elderly and young populations in Taiwan. As urban environments evolve, ensuring inclusive and accessible transportation becomes crucial. The TMF aims to leverage technology to create sustainable solutions that address these pressing needs.
