Innovative Learning Project at Tennoji Junior High School
In a groundbreaking educational initiative, Open House Group's Kansai branch has partnered with the Osaka City Education Commission and Tennoji Junior High School to engage 8th-grade students in a hands-on, problem-solving project aimed at addressing housing challenges. This program, running from May to June 2026, is designed to instill a sense of career responsibility and encourage proactive thinking among students regarding their future paths.
Project Overview
The core aim of this project is not only to introduce students to various professions but also to delve into Open House Group's corporate philosophy and the methodologies for resolving social issues related to real estate. The students worked collaboratively as groups to brainstorm and propose unique solutions to the central theme: “Strategies to Deliver More Homes to People.”
Structure of the Program
The initiative unfolded over roughly two months, comprising three main phases:
1.
Initial Session (May 8): Sharing Corporate Philosophy and Social Challenges
During the first session, representatives from Open House provided insights into the current state of the real estate industry, including business models and the roles of sales positions. Engaging students with a quiz on business terminology, they effectively taught the meaning of work and its societal significance. Following the lecture, students were invited to enter group work, presented with the project’s main challenge, leading to vibrant discussions facilitated by the use of sticky notes to organize key points and ideas. This culminated in presentations summarizing their proposed solutions.
2.
Midterm Presentation (May 26): Expert Feedback and Course Correction
Each group shared their progress, receiving valuable feedback from Open House on refining proposals. Discussions included the logical foundations for target selection and methods for calculating market price specifics. Following this session, students deepened their project ideas and actively participated in a Q&A session, displaying enthusiasm as they posed questions about housing trends and popular areas.
3.
Final Presentation (June 16): Showcasing Results and Selected Presentations
The project concluded with presentations from all four groups. Each team, having incorporated previous feedback, delivered compelling pitches, presenting their ideas confidently without reliance on scripts. A key aspect of their learning emphasized how their solutions contribute to personal and societal well-being. The standout team presented in front of the entire grade in the auditorium, showcasing the culmination of their efforts and learnings.
Commitment to Education
Open House Group remains dedicated to collaborating with educational institutions to support the career development of young minds. Through these initiatives, they aim to foster creativity, critical thinking, and practical problem-solving skills among students, preparing them for future challenges.
