Exclusive New Light Pottery Exhibition at CIBONE

CIBONE, located in Omotesando, Tokyo, is set to host an exclusive exhibition for the renowned Japanese lighting brand, New Light Pottery. The exhibition will run from March 28 to April 12, showcasing the brand's unique craftsmanship and innovative designs developed by Hiroyuki Nagatomi and Chizu Nara, the visionary designers behind New Light Pottery.

A Journey into Creative Lighting

Founded in 2015 in Nara, New Light Pottery is built upon the philosophy that good lighting can create atmosphere and enhance space. The brand emphasizes traditional craftsmanship, merging high-quality materials sourced from across Japan with time-honored techniques passed down through generations of artisans. This dedication to quality has led to the creation of exquisite products made from brass, glass, and ceramics, and has earned them acclaim both domestically and internationally.

Thematic Exhibition

The upcoming POP-UP exhibition titled “When craft becomes light” will delve into the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship. Attendees will have the opportunity to watch the product development process through visual displays on two monitors, revealing the inspiration and creativity that fuel New Light Pottery’s artistic journey.

On the opening day, Hiroyuki Nagatomi and Chizu Nara will be present at CIBONE to offer personalized consultations, assisting visitors in selecting the perfect lighting for their needs. This rare chance to gain insights directly from the designers allows customers to understand the nuances of the products.

Featured Products

Among the products featured at the exhibition, visitors can expect to see popular core items alongside new creations, including the exclusive Como version produced specifically for CIBONE. The Como is a modern floor lamp made with Japanese washi paper, characterized by its unique texture derived from the kozo plant fibers and its elegant form, inspired by traditional Japanese deep hats. The CIBONE exclusive will boast a distinctive black dye finish crafted in collaboration with Kihata-no, a respected paper artisan based in Ayabe City, Kyoto.

The exhibition will showcase around 25 different items, providing a comprehensive view of New Light Pottery's dedication to art and design. In addition to their lighting products, visitors will gain insights into the intricate processes behind each piece, highlighting the value of craftsmanship.
