Understanding the Impact of Targeting in Form Sales
The landscape of sales strategies is rapidly evolving with the emergence of generative AI, facilitating an increase in tools designed to send sales messages via contact forms. As a consequence, form sales have become a widely recognized technique across various industries. Since 2018, our company has offered form sales tools, witnessing firsthand the significant effect that targeted outreach has on sales outcomes.
To delve deeper into this phenomenon, we analyzed the sales data from the year 2025, focusing on combinations of product categories and recipient industries to uncover the most effective pairings for maximizing sales performance.
Research Methodology
Using the sales support tool,
FutureSearch, we extracted and analyzed over 1.5 million data points related to form sales results from 2025. For our analysis, we used the unique visit rate, defined as the ratio of companies that clicked on the tracking URL to the number of successful deliveries (excluding bot traffic).

Key Findings: The Power of Matching Combinations
The data from our analysis reveals that while form sales are often perceived as a numbers game, the combination of recipient and content significantly impacts the value of a single message. The average unique visit rate for form sales stands at 5.4%, but varies dramatically across different product and industry combinations with high rates reaching 8.5% and lows dipping down to 1.8%. This discrepancy indicates that even sending 1,000 messages can yield a variation of 67 companies visiting based on the matched combinations.
Top 10 Effective Combinations
Here are the top-performing combinations based on their remarkable visit rates:
1.
Construction & Real Estate Services × Information & Communication Industry (8.5%) - Respondents were primarily interested in office relocation and expansion, especially for move-in ready spaces.
2.
Education & Training Services × Academic Research & Professional Services (8.4%) - Initiatives such as free seminars resonate strongly, promoting learning rather than sales pitches.
3.
Event & Promotion × Lifestyle Services & Entertainment (8.3%) - The alignment between event needs and operational requirements results in a high engagement rate.
4.
Manufacturing & Processing Services × Manufacturing Industry (8.2%) - Proposals addressing specific manufacturing techniques and sourcing challenges yield high response rates.
5.
Logistics & Delivery Services × Transportation Industry (7.8%) - Solutions focusing on cost reduction and service expansion resonate well within the logistics sector.
6.
Manufacturing & Processing Services × Wholesale & Retail (7.7%)
7.
Manufacturing & Processing Services × Academic Research & Professional Services (7.5%)
8.
Creative Services × Education & Learning Support (7.5%)
9.

10.
Creative Services × Information & Communication Industry (7.4%)
Revealing Patterns in Low Engagement
Conversely, combinations yielding low visit rates also present distinct patterns. Notably, the construction sector appears prominently in the bottom rankings, with categories such as human resource assistance (1.8%), business consulting (2.3%), and IT support (2.4%) showcasing engagement significantly below the general average. This suggests that construction may favor personal connections over digital outreach.
Additionally, some associations, such as education & training services combined with manufacturing (2.6%) and environmental services with real estate (2.7%), reflect low engagement typically due to their specialized nature.
Moving from Quantity to Quality
This investigation culminates in a clear message: the effectiveness of form sales hinges not on the volume of outreach but rather the precision of targeting—optimizing the match between products and industries is essential for maximizing success.
