Online Senior Yoga Instructor Training by IHTA

The International Holistic Therapy Association (IHTA) has announced an upcoming Senior Yoga [Basic] Instructor Training Course starting on March 1, 2026. This online program will run for five consecutive days, providing participants with the opportunity to enhance their yoga instruction skills specifically aimed at senior citizens.

Founded with the objective of promoting holistic medicine and the therapy industry, IHTA is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of individuals through the spread of correct knowledge regarding both physical and mental health.

Course Overview

This online instructor training is primarily designed for individuals who possess Level 1 or Level 2 IHTA-certified yoga instructor qualifications, as well as those currently enrolled in or having completed RYT200/500 programs. Participants will learn specialized knowledge and safe teaching methods rooted in anatomy, aimed at fostering a nurturing environment for seniors engaging in yoga. The course encourages instructors to develop practical skills and empathetic communication techniques that resonate with the emotional and physical needs of their students.

What is Senior Yoga?

Senior Yoga focuses on utilizing chairs to allow participants to move their bodies comfortably and safely, supporting their mental and physical well-being. The practice adapts to each individual's conditions and pace, ensuring a gentle progression that encourages refreshing and healthy movement, particularly for those with limited physical ability or confidence.

Course Highlights

  • - Anatomy-Based Instruction: Acquire insights into the physical concerns specific to seniors, such as muscle deterioration and reduced flexibility. The curriculum prioritizes safety and accommodates seated practice.
  • - Immediate Practical Teaching Skills: Engage in creating sequences that simulate real class environments and receive hands-on teaching practice, enabling instructors to become effective immediately upon completion.
  • - What You Will Gain: By passing the practical and theoretical examinations, participants will be awarded the IHTA Certified Senior [Basic] Yoga Instructor qualification, enhancing their credibility in the professional community.
