ThunderSoft and Geely Unveil AIBOX for Scalable AI in Vehicles at IAA 2025

ThunderSoft and Geely Launch AIBOX at IAA Mobility 2025

At the IAA Mobility 2025 event, held in Munich, ThunderSoft (SZSE: 300496) and Geely Auto revealed their latest innovation: the AIBOX. This pioneering solution aims to integrate large-scale artificial intelligence models into vehicles, marking a significant leap in automotive technology.

A Revolutionary Step in Automotive AI

The automotive landscape is rapidly evolving, with intelligence taking center stage. The introduction of AIBOX aligns with the industry's shift from basic assistance systems to sophisticated multi-agent frameworks. However, the limited computing power on the edge had previously hampered the scaling of AI capabilities in vehicles. To tackle this challenge, ThunderSoft, Geely, and NVIDIA collaborated to develop AIBOX, a configurable plug-and-play solution designed to provide automotive manufacturers with powerful AI computing at a lower cost and faster deployment.

One of the standout features of AIBOX is ThunderSoft's comprehensive AquaDrive AIOS software, which operates on the certified NVIDIA DriveOS automotive operating system. This software integrates compute allocation, model scheduling, and scenario customization for multi-modal responses within milliseconds. It facilitates the rapid deployment of AI agents for applications such as personalized greetings, proactive recommendations, advanced monitoring modes, parking storage, and GUI-based interactions.

Architectural Robustness

AIBOX is built on the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform, boasting a flexible computing architecture that easily adapts to various vehicle models, from entry-level to premium segments without necessitating changes to existing electronic architecture. Furthermore, its robust hardware supports both air and liquid cooling systems to ensure stable operation across diverse environments.

The system's open standard interfaces enable seamless integration with cockpit systems, fostering multimodal data fusion that enhances the in-car experience.

Industry Leaders Share Insights

Larry Geng, co-founder and president of ThunderSoft, emphasized, "The race in the intelligent vehicle arena ultimately revolves around AI computing and its practical applications. The AIBOX's approach of optimized software-hardware integration directly addresses processing bottlenecks in the cabin, balancing cost and performance. Our collaboration with Geely and NVIDIA transcends technical synergies, creating a standardized pathway to deploy large AI models at scale, facilitating manufacturers' entry into the era of intelligent vehicles."

Xiaojuan Wang, president of Geely's External Collaboration Research Institute, added, "AI computing is the backbone of the intelligent cockpit. Together with ThunderSoft and NVIDIA, we have developed the industry's first AI box enabling democratized computing power. Our AI-driven Geely Galaxy M9 garnered over 40,000 pre-orders within just 24 hours, reflecting market demand for genuine intelligence. Looking ahead, Geely will continue to deepen collaborations with key partners to enhance human-vehicle interaction and create smarter, safer mobility experiences."

As vehicles evolve into intelligent companions, the demand for powerful in-car AI computing is higher than ever, remarked a NVIDIA vice president of automotive. "Our partnership with ThunderSoft enables manufacturers like Geely to run large AI models directly in vehicles, creating innovative cabin experiences ranging from personalized assistance to immersive entertainment, paving the way for safer, smarter, and more engaging rides for all passengers."

A Milestone in Automotive Innovation

The unveiling of AIBOX at IAA 2025 represents not only a milestone in the collaboration between ThunderSoft, Geely, and NVIDIA but also a crucial step forward in scaling up the implementation of AI models in automobiles. ThunderSoft remains committed to its strategic vision of being technology-first, ecosystem-driven, and globally expansive, working with partners worldwide to support the automotive industry and create a smarter, connected future of mobility.
