Ultra Tendency Group Expands Its Presence in East and Southeast Asia

Overview

Founded in 2010, Ultra Tendency Group, a boutique consulting firm specializing in big data and AI, has recently announced a significant business expansion into East and Southeast Asia. With its operational bases in Tokyo and Singapore, the group now serves clients across three continents, including major corporations in Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Global Recognition and Partnership

As a Global Databricks DPP Partner and a Databricks Training Partner, Ultra Tendency brings advanced technical expertise to the Asia-Pacific region. The company’s robust track record in a highly regulated European environment is a testament to its capabilities. Databricks itself has reported impressive growth in the Japanese market, expecting over 100% year-on-year growth in the fiscal year ending January 2024. Notable Japanese corporations, including ANA, Bridgestone, Aeon, and Konica Minolta, are adopting its platform. Moreover, with the ISMAP certification obtained on January 28, 2026, Databricks has now become accessible for procurement by public sector institutions in Japan.

In the words of Dr. Robert Neumann, CEO of Ultra Tendency Group: "The adoption of Databricks in Japan is expanding at a pace that exceeds the local implementation capabilities. Ultra Tendency aims to bring fifteen years of disciplined engineering experience from projects like the European Central Bank’s SPACE platform and HUK-COBURG's zero-downtime telematics system to our clients in Asia, maintaining the same unwavering standards. Our DPP partnership with Databricks serves as a foundation for this growth, ensuring reliability through proven experience."

Strategic Presence Across Three Continents

The Asian establishments of Ultra Tendency comprise locations in Japan (Tokyo), Singapore, and Nepal (Kathmandu). The group also maintains a solid foothold across Europe with operations in Germany, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Austria, Spain, Portugal, Latvia, and Estonia. Ultra Tendency has made over 6,000 code contributions to more than 25 open-source projects, including Apache Kafka, NiFi, Ansible, and Terraform, and has achieved certifications such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, and TISAX.

Among the notable European achievements is the SPACE platform used by over 1,000 data scientists at the European Central Bank, the telematics platform for HUK-COBURG, and a centralized Apache Kafka streaming infrastructure on Azure for Vattenfall, as well as the Telekom Data Intelligence Hub for Deutsche Telekom.

Recruitment for Talented Data Engineers

To support its growing operations, Ultra Tendency Japan and Ultra Tendency Singapore are actively seeking experienced data engineers. These positions will be local hires, and successful candidates will participate in training under the group’s Global Databricks Partnership before taking on project responsibilities. The prerequisites include over five years of software development experience, along with expertise in data engineering and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
