AEVEX Joins Persistent Systems' Wave Relay® Ecosystem



Persistent Systems, a front-runner in advanced networking technology, has recently announced that AEVEX, a prominent defense tech company specializing in autonomous unmanned systems, has joined its Wave Relay® Ecosystem. This powerful integration will see the Wave Relay® Mobile Ad Hoc Networking (MANET) system deployed in AEVEX's Atlas unmanned aerial system (UAS) as well as in their Mako and Mako Lite unmanned surface vessels (USVs).

The Atlas UAS represents a Group II platform that supports Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and precision-strike operations. Meanwhile, the Mako and Mako Lite are versatile unmanned surface vehicles designed for ISR, maritime sensing, communication relays, and customizable payloads for various missions. By joining forces, AEVEX and Persistent aim to enhance operational effectiveness for U.S. and allied forces in complex battlefield scenarios.

Ed Fahrenkrug, Director of Programs at Persistent Systems, expressed excitement about the new partnership, noting that even before formally joining the ecosystem, the Wave Relay® MANET was already incorporated into the Atlas UAS. Notably, this system was a key part in AEVEX's successful bid for the Army's Launched Effects-Short Range program, demonstrating the effectiveness of their collaborative technologies during rigorous testing.
