Keurig Dr Pepper Reports Q2 Results and Reaffirms Guidance for 2026

Keurig Dr Pepper Inc., listed on NASDAQ as KDP, released its financial performance for the second quarter of 2026 on August 6, 2026. The company experienced a surge in net sales and provided reassurances on its financial outlook for the year. CEO Tim Cofer highlighted a remarkable quarter, emphasizing strong growth in their U.S. Refreshment Beverages sector and notable progress in integrating JDE Peet's.

Financial Overview

In the second quarter, Keurig Dr Pepper reported net sales of $7.31 billion, representing a significant increase of 75.6% compared to the previous year. Additionally, constant currency sales grew by 74.6%. The net sales growth can be attributed to strong pricing strategies and an increase in volume. Excluding the impact of the JDE Peet's acquisition, legacy KDP’s net sales increased by 7.3% year-over-year.

  • - Diluted EPS for the quarter was $0.04, which is a decrease of 90% compared to the previous year, primarily impacted by integration-related costs. However, the adjusted EPS saw a 15.2% increase, reaching $0.57, reflecting the company's operational efficiency and productivity improvements.

Keurig Dr Pepper's Q2 operating income was reported at $628 million, down 30.1% year-over-year due to increased costs associated with acquisitions and integration activities. However, the adjusted operating income improved by 42.9%, demonstrating the company’s resilience despite rising inflationary pressures.

Segment Performance

U.S. Refreshment Beverages

This segment reported a healthy growth of 10%, with net sales rising to $2.9 billion, fueled by a combination of volume increase and favorable pricing.

U.S. Coffee

The coffee segment faced challenges, with net sales slightly declining by 3.2% to $918 million. The volume/mix faced a downturn, primarily influenced by a reporting shift of Peet's K-Cup pods to the JDE Peet's segment due to the recent acquisition.

JDE Peet's

KDP recognized significant contribution from the JDE Peet's acquisition, with net sales amounting to $2.8 billion. Although the segment reported an operating loss of $62 million during this quarter, adjusted operating income reached $414 million, showcasing the potential profitability of this acquisition in the long term.

Future Guidance

Keurig Dr Pepper maintains its guidance for the full year of 2026, anticipating net sales between $25.9 billion and $26.4 billion. The company forecasts low-double-digit growth in constant currency adjusted EPS. It aims to conclude the year with a pro forma management leverage ratio of approximately 4.1x, providing a strong foundation for its financial strategies moving forward.

This financial results announcement reflects Keurig Dr Pepper’s adaptability and strategic focus amidst the complexities of the beverage industry. The progress in JDE Peet's integration is expected to further solidify its position in the global market while driving future growth opportunities.
