Tokyo Matching Event: Bridging Nonprofits and Corporations
The Japan Network for Public Interest Activities (JANPIA) is set to host a crucial event in Tokyo on
November 14, 2025. Supported by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren), this matching event aims to foster collaboration between nonprofits that utilize dormant deposits and corporations. As societal challenges become increasingly complex, the need for innovative solutions through joint efforts is more important than ever.
Purpose of the Event
JANPIA strives for a society where no challenge - whether previously overlooked or newly emerged - remains unresolved. Through initiatives that leverage dormant deposits, JANPIA collaborates with diverse social sectors to tackle pressing issues. The introduction of substantial corporate resources is particularly vital, enhancing the effectiveness and sustainability of these initiatives.
Historically, JANPIA has conducted four matching events, with significant success. Last year, a similar event in Osaka resulted in 25 collaborative projects between local nonprofits and businesses. This time, it aims to extend those fruitful connections into Tokyo, bringing together a wide array of participants.

Significance of Dormant Deposit Utilization
The practice of utilizing dormant deposits commenced in Japan in 2019. This policy allows banks to redirect funds from accounts that have had no transactions for over ten years towards solving societal problems. As of September 2025, 1,477 organizations have been selected for support, amounting to a total of approximately ¥37.73 billion in grants and investments.
About JANPIA
Founded in July 2018 under the leadership of Keidanren, JANPIA aims to support and develop the dormant deposit utilization system. Our mission aligns with the SDGs vision of creating a sustainable society that leaves no one behind. Further details about JANPIA can be found on our
