Spiber Reveals Innovative Partnerships with Leading Textile Manufacturers for Sustainable Fibers

Spiber's Innovative Collaborations in Textiles

Spiber, a technology-driven company specializing in man-made protein fibers, has recently unveiled its exciting new partnerships with esteemed Italian textile manufacturers, Manifattura Sesia and Achille Pinto. The collaboration emphasizes a shared vision for sustainability and innovation in textile production, integrating Spiber's pioneering Brewed Protein™ fiber into various new fabric collections.

Partnership with Manifattura Sesia

Manifattura Sesia is renowned for its commitment to quality and ethical sourcing. Through this partnership, they have successfully developed an innovative yarn blend named T-Gen (Technological Generation Yarns), featuring 30% Brewed Protein™ fiber and 70% fine Merino wool. This combination results in a notably soft touch and a reduced specific weight compared to conventional wool yarns, making it particularly advantageous for various textile applications. Chiara Serra, the Creative Director at Manifattura Sesia, expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting that T-Gen is a testament to their ongoing journey towards crafting responsible, high-quality yarns.

To enhance versatility, Manifattura Sesia plans to offer three variations of T-Gen, showcasing their commitment to sustainability in textiles and longevity in product development.

Collaboration with Achille Pinto

The second significant partnership is with Achille Pinto, a prestigious Italian mill recognized for its intricate jacquards and printed textiles. Together, they have introduced collections featuring 15-30% Brewed Protein™ blended with silk and wool. This is notably the first-time silk and Brewed Protein™ fiber are being combined in textile manufacturing within Europe.

Achille Pinto has also pioneered printing techniques on Brewed Protein™ fabrics, which lends itself to high-end accessories such as scarves and shawls. These textiles can be customized, offering clients tailored options that meet unique design needs.

Further Developments and Future Showcases

In addition to these collaborations, Spiber has partnered with several other textile companies, including Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia, Maglificio Erika, Botto Giuseppe, and Marzotto. Each of these partners has made remarkable strides in developing unique fabric and yarn collections that will be presented at major textile fairs like Pitti Filati and Milano Unica.

Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia is showcasing two new yarns featuring Brewed Protein™. Both are ideal for knitting, promising a luxurious feel while benefiting from the unique properties of Spiber's fiber combined with their expertise in merino wool spinning and finishing. Additionally, Botto Giuseppe remains the sole European mill to provide 100% Brewed Protein™ worsted yarn and continues to offer customizable color options.

Marzotto, known for its craftsmanship, is revisiting its FiberPro collection, integrating fibers blended with 30% Brewed Protein™ to create innovative materials suited for modern, conscious tailoring.

On the Japanese front, Takisada-Nagoya is preparing over twenty new fabric collections, including the premiere of a suit fabric made entirely from 100% Brewed Protein™ fiber, as well as a range of blends suitable for outerwear. Notably, a new denim fabric will include 20% Brewed Protein™, marking the highest percentage available in the denim market today.

All developments and fabric samples will be prominently featured at Spiber's booths at both Pitti Filati and Milano Unica, highlighting the brand's commitment to leading the shift towards responsible textile innovation.
