Applications Now Open for the Second Annual Midwest Dairy Accelerator

Midwest Dairy, in collaboration with VentureFuel, has officially launched its second annual Accelerator program, aiming to unleash a wave of innovation in the dairy industry. This initiative is geared towards nurturing and showcasing visionary startups dedicated to transforming dairy-based products. With applications open until May 5, 2026, aspiring entrepreneurs have a unique opportunity to participate in this ten-week hybrid program designed to boost their growth and impact.

The Accelerator provides invaluable resources including mentorship, industry connections, and the chance to develop innovative business models centered around real dairy products. Six early-stage companies focusing on diverse dairy offerings will be selected to engage with leading experts in the dairy, food, and consumer packaged goods (CPG) sectors. Participants will benefit from tailored commercialization support, strategic guidance, and expert mentorship that will fast-track their journey to market.

Throughout the program, participants will also receive professionally crafted branding materials, media exposure, and access to a network of buyers, investors, and prominent industry leaders. Startups will refine their business pitches during a series of supportive workshops, culminating in a final pitch event on September 16, 2026, in Minneapolis. Here, they have the chance to secure significant financial backing, with a total of $30,000 in prizes. The grand prize winner will receive a generous $20,000, while a finalist will receive $10,000, incentivizing innovation within the dairy sector.

To qualify for the program, companies must have a viable product prototype that complies with USDA regulations. The Accelerator is interested in startups across various dairy-related categories such as beverages, cheeses, frozen treats, yogurts, snacks, ready-to-eat meals, and more. This broad spectrum reflects the evolving consumer demand for innovative, dairy-based products that deliver both flavor and functionality.
